Those Kimbers sure look nice. The only thing about them is that they seem hit and miss - either you get a good one or a headache.
I had some worries about this, but I finally got out to the range today with a few boxes of ammo to see how it shot at 100yds.
- Hornady 150 GMX Superformance: shot great, touching at 100, did not bother to measure the groups, but they touched so thats good enough for me.
- Hornady 165 Interbond Superformance: Horrible groups. like 5 inches. My gun just does not like them.
- Norma 180 Alaska: Same deal, big open groups. Looked like buck shot patterns.
- Federal Vital Shok High Energy 180 Partitions: Just like the Hornady 150s, the shots were touching. Very pleased with these, although off the bench they have more punch than my 45-70.
As far as the gun itself I love it, fit and finish is perfect. It shoulders like it was made for me, and handles incredibly. It is a hair under 7lbs scoped.
Dogleg, I can only imagine that thing is punishing off the bench.
