I have been looking at the Kimber and Cooper rifles, they seem to be very nice. I would like to hear from you people who have experience with these rifle and what you think about them. Good or Bad..........

Thanks

Some people love'em some people hate them. I think they are both great value for what you get. I have several of both and I have hunted with both. Coopers come in a bigger selection, have nicer wood and I really like the jackson stock design. Kimbers are lighter and have better triggers. The Kimber 84L is really a nice action for the -06 sized rounds if thats where you wanna be.

This question has been asked several times you could try a search for some more answers.

I have one Cooper in 280 AI very accurate I would buy another in a heartbeat. When the magnum action hits Canada I will be buying 2 more

I should also mention that I believe coopers warranty/customer service is far superior to kimber's. In the extremely rare case there's an issue with either rifle you'd be better off with a Cooper.

I own the Kimber Classic in 270 WSM, it is a thoroughly reliable and accurate rifle, very light to carry all day long, a very good looking stock and satin bluying makes for a nice looking rig, I have only taken one deer with it but it is a joy to use and CRF to boot.

I have an 84M, fluted .223. The fit and finish is exceptional, and it shoots everything just the same. I have heard real bad stories about Kimbers, so the point about Cooper having better customer service may matter if you get a lemon.

i just bought a kimber 8400 montana, so far not impressed, found a rust like substance in the stainless steel barrel, and when i pulled it apart it was not bedded as it is supposed to be from the factory.... i am dealing with the store that sold it to me and so far he has been good to deal with... i hope it stays that way... i havent shot it yet and i might hold off just to see if i can return it..

Cooper is a FAR superior rifle to Kimber.

The odd individual may get a nice Kimber, but the rifles are not the same quality as the pistols by a long shot.

My 2 cents and I have handled 100's of kimbers.... be afraid, verrrrrrry afraid!

All kimbers are bedded to a slave action during manufacture. sometimes differences between the slave action and the action they install in the stock can lead to bedding problems. The montanas stocks are bedded to a slave action that incorporates the magazine well, trigger well, bolt cutout and barrel channel, it is molded/laid up all at one time before the stock is painted. When they paint the stock they also paint the inside of the stock, mag well etc, leads many into believing they are not bedded. In any case they are bedded to a slave action and not the individual action that is eventually installed. The wood stocked models are also bedded to a slave action but the bedding is visible because they are not painted.

hmm, okay that makes sense... just got back from the range 1.5 groups with factory loaded barnes.. so not to bad.. might keep it after all, but i am hoping it can do better.

Kimber ~Kimber~ COOPER !!!

I Traded my used Kimber Montana, (270 wsm)for a NIB Kimber Select Grade 7mm Rem.I then traded the NIB Kimber (7mm Rem)\Plus alot of Cash$$$ for a NIB Cooper Rifle(7MM STW):D

Even though I sold the Kimber Rifles I still like Kimbers. They have great lines and my Montana 270WSM served me well over the years.Problem Free.

The cooper's are very nice, after shooting dad's 280AI last year,I knew I had to have one, espicially with the custom classic stock,I love that Len Brownels western checking pattern.
