All kimbers are bedded to a slave action during manufacture. sometimes differences between the slave action and the action they install in the stock can lead to bedding problems. The montanas stocks are bedded to a slave action that incorporates the magazine well, trigger well, bolt cutout and barrel channel, it is molded/laid up all at one time before the stock is painted. When they paint the stock they also paint the inside of the stock, mag well etc, leads many into believing they are not bedded. In any case they are bedded to a slave action and not the individual action that is eventually installed. The wood stocked models are also bedded to a slave action but the bedding is visible because they are not painted.
