Knights Armament PDW

I really like the jacket. What are you wearing?
Does it have concealable compartments? Armour pockets?

Its hard to see KevinB talking about a fabulous rifle with folding stock when for so many years he's talked about folding stocks as substandard to retractable perfection on AR's, actually I'm surprised not to hear how the AR is a better product for the job. Very strange KevinB activity! Must be invasion of the body snatchers.

Folders are obviously advantageous for certain applications where the weapon will be concealed. One of the main features of the PDW is it's ease of concealement.

Like Kev mentioned this was one thing the 552 had going for it.

im interested in the new round the gun uses, saw something with the head of KAC (believe it was on future weapons) with him saying the round was specifically designed for the 10.5 and 8" barrels. even said the 5.56 would have been fine to use if they had gone with a 14" barrel

Trey Knight and I will be on Ultimate Weapons with the M110, and Chris Costa, Travis Haley and I will be with the PDW.

I believe the PDW could use an adjustable stock that allows for a 2-4" LOP adjustment - I still beleive that an adjustable stock is a necessity, due to armor, clothing and different positions.

Most folders are sub-par, adjustable stocks are prefered.

For a general infantry weapon the M16FOW is very hard to beat in MWS platforms. However this system is needed to be more than a general issue system.

I will find out from the producer as to exactly when this show will air.

Awesome! You are living the life of a rock star. :D

I looked at the Knights PDW at SHOT in detail and was very impressed. I had seen it advertised but didn't think much of it before.

It is a very well designed and thought out weapon. Looks like it has a little SIG in it! (That could be what makes it so great.) The gun is light but very rugged. The stock is more comfortable than it looks. It's a very compact gun and should be great for entry / CQB. It's nice and short and I wouldn't get too excited about adding a collapsing stock. The gun will fit most users fine even with body armour unless you are a total "miget".

I also attended the Knights Open House and Tour. I was very impressed with Mr. Knight's collection. It's better than some of the National Military / War Museums that I have been to.

The round the PDW uses is also very interesting. I'd like to get more info on it sometime. The hard part is trying to get such a good little round going and "widely" accepted. I think Knights realy has a winner with this gun. A source also told me that it could / may be scaled up to a 5.56mm platform. I wil be while before we find out though, the source is now into being a "Movie Star".

I will see if I can get some of the ballitics data out to you.

I like the stock size - its nicer out of armor, but still okay with it, however the gadget geek in me wants to adjust it.

As you have seen the M4 lowers we made for the 552's you can get an idea of what/who inspired the original PDW requests.
