Knights Arms SR-15's

I was going to sell more optics and a gun or two and get myself an SR-25 EMC. Yuh oh. I guess it gives me more time to save?

The SR-25 EMC is my "HNNNNGGGGG" black rifle.

fuuuuuuuuuuuuuu damn I want one so badly! makes me wanna sell my tavor and get one but damn I'm not sure about passing through the whole hassle of selling/buying etc.

Damn. When is the US going to realise that ITAR is just hurting its commercial interests? it isn't like the AR15 design has been a secret for over 50 years.

They don't care.... Canada's not even a big enough market. A remington rep put it into perspective. He said Canada buys as much firearms per year as a small US state like RI.

While I get that we are a small market in the scheme of things I don't quite agree with that attitude. We know Canadians will buy this stuff up and pay far more for the same product than Americans.

If I knew I could increase my sales volume by even 2-3 percent and get good gross in the process I wouldn't think twice. How big of a deal is it to build a export compliant model, especially if you can pass on all the costs to the consumer and they'll still buy? If it didn't make financial sense RobArms and KelTec wouldn't be bothering so it has to be more an issue of attitude than economics.

Remember, the Liberal policians lobbied the US to remove Canada's exempt status for mainy items.

Canada used to get pretty much anything except full auto and suppressors for commercial resale.

Personally I dont think that DDTC or DOS really have a clear defined list of what can and cannot come into Canada for commercial resale.

We have had a number of items that got approved on one license and disapproved on others -- and there seems to a roll the chicken bones sort of crap shoot when dealing with this.

So just to clarify, the request for the SR-15s hasn't yet been processed, we're still waiting on an answer, it was just the SR-25s that got shut down, right?

This being the case, is there still a decent chance that the SR-15s will go through soon without the same issues?

I would love either an SR-25 or SR-15 myself. Here's waiting.............. I hope these go through without too much more trouble.

It's a shame that expressing my enthusiasm for this to come through will do nothing to expedite the US State Department's approval of this export permit.

All the same, I hope these come through soon :)

I think the writing is on the wall.. while I HOPE they come in, I'm not sure they will.

Either way, I ended up buying an SR15 upper in the EE - I like instant gratification. :)

Well, I guess I'll just sit patiently until the export permit gets approved, or until another one shows up on EE. I'd be cool with a Noveske too, so long as it had the flat top upper and low profile gas block.

Ok so here comes the newbie question.

Why is everyone in this thread trying to jump through their computer screens to get one of these SR 15/25's? After reading all the posts I get they are special but why?

Not trying to be a pain, just truely interested.

I just keep harassing them to release a 11.5" URX midlength upper. Cause that is the one I really want.

As for your question cowtown45, They are extremely light for a railed upper and they have the new E3 bolt system which is supposed to be more reliable.
