Knoxx Blackhawk stocks

The mossberg controls favour the tradtional stock, so consider the comp stock as well to reduce recoil. I hate recoil and will not use a shotgun without a recoil reducing stock.

I have one on my 590 and I like it, the slide release is easy to reach with your thumb, the safety is also easy to operate but you'll have to take your hand off the grip.

Shot a round of sporting clays last Sunday, alot less recoil than my friends semi with a wood stock

I've got a knoxx on a 870 clone that works great. It feels a little strange at first, and takes a little practice to cycle the action properly. Tames slugs like you wouldn't believe though- my 100lb sister throws them downrange!

Thx guys !

Any good ol' Canadian retailers of choice who deal with the Knoxx stock ?

And how about forearms ...
I'm thinking of going with the standard black one but I like the other with the strap too.
Not sure about the pistol grip forearm , might be abit " much"...this will be primarily used as a tacticool turkey gun ;) ...but , zombies do pop up at the range every now and then.
What do you fellas suggest/use ?
Photos ..?..!!!

I have sued the Knoxx Specops stock for a few years and it makes a big difference once it is borken in (needs to get spring stiffness out). Here it is a couple years ago:

I had a stock Ian at Robertson Composites coat the forend in the rexuytring that he uses on his rifles sotcks. I had to sand it down a bit to stop removing skin, but it works well. I also swapped the safety out for one of S&J Hardwares enlarged safeties; I do not have to completely remove my hand from the grip now to use it.

I'm pondering on putting a recoil reducing Knoxx on my Mossy 12ga, turkeygun.
Anybody use them ? ...any yeah's or na's ?

This is what I want one for as well

Thx guys !

Hogue forend, it's pretty freaking sweet.IMHO.

Last time i was at EPPS I seen some cammp ones. I love mine, madea huge improvment. Took a while to get used to the different shooting position..if you get it wrong you will get a wack in the face.

Specialty shooting is where i got mine for my 835. Love it. Get the knoxx power pack for the stock while you're ordering. It has a low and high cheek piece and a shell holder plus a waterproof container that i use for my reg cert.

Here's a couple pics of my mossberg 835 with the knoxx stock and the powerpak low cheek piece with attached shellholder. I find that with the front and rear pistol grips i can swing faster to line up geese and get a followup shot faster when the crappy steel BB's just bounce off the feathers.:D

The knoxx collapsible stock on the Mossberg 500 fits and functions as described. For me (shorter fingers) I have to break grip to actuate the slide/pump release...and remove my hand completely to actuate the safety.

Recoil is more straight back vs. a normal stock. Side by side...with the knoxx there's much faster back on target and follow ups. With light target loads there's basically little felt recoil. With stiffer high brass...I'm not getting pounded/punched up as much as with a normal stock. You'll probably be able to shoot basically unlimited target loads and a whole lot of stiff shells and not have a stiff shoulder the next day. The only ouchy I got was letting the stock away from my shoulder and having it bounce into me on a shot.

They do the job. So far impressed. I use it on an 870. It does take getting use to ,...just can't keep cheek weld anywhere working park of it (it comes with instructions). I have black, and ordered directly from Brownells. CBSA inspected too, but all okay, as shotgun parts fall under a different exemption. You can also try SFRC up top.

Note: you will have alot of black, i use mine for deer too. Not worried for deer, but you can cover up with camo for turkey.

Have you looked into the oversize safeties from SJ hardware...BadBoyBeasson on this site sells them...I installed one on my 590A1 with a Knoxx stock. Now I dont have small hands but I dont have big huge sausage meat hooks either so I can use my thumb to accuate it still in the wings down position....should check it out...cheap and easy to install.

This is the only pic i have of it right now...you cant really see it but it is there.

good lord...
what happens when you pinch the webbing of your middle finger in that little space between the stock and triggerguard and touch off a 3" round? partial amputation?
what a stupid, lazy design from Knoxx.

incidentally this is one of the reasons i stick to the 870: because stuff tends to be designed for the 870 first, and then adapted (with varying degrees of quality) to other models.

regarding the OP's question:
the knoxx stocks work great on a slug gun, and therefore perhaps theyll be fine for a turkey gun.
theyre a poor choice, IMHO, for wing shooting.
also - with the stock collapsed, you will have issues with sighting the bead properly - it raises the comb too high. this issue disappears with the stock extended, but thats not going to help you if youre 5'4", LOL.
