Kodiak Defence K9 PCC Review / info thread

Next time you take it out shooting shoot a mag left handed and let us lefty’s know if it’s going to be ok for us
The fx-9 blows too much gas/ unburnt powder into our faces
Curious to see if this rifle is better or not

Ya, tagged for interest now..

Has to re-read this thread to remind myself to chase a Raven. I still like my FX9 but it is in the Wolvrrine Hospotal and won't be back for a bit. If I had a dream gun it would be an AR style platform with the CZ Skorpian accuracy and reliability. Just hope Pierre gets in as PM
.

Looks like I'll be out close to 3 Grand.for a Raven by the middle of the month.

Take Care

A retailer has them up for less than a grand so I thought I would try one out at that price. The normal 5-600$ I put into a gun afterwards makes it will feel like a bargain.

The buffer on the K9 looks proprietary to me. I have not tried to disassemble it further yet.

I have no issues with my safety. It flicks /moves as expected.

Ok I got the safety moving. Had to really force it and now it moves. And yes the hammer was down when I first tried. I tried the Magpul Glock mag and Glock branded mag with factory round nose 147gr. Had about 6-7 out if 20 rounds fail to feed. It would not 100% go into battery. Rifle was also well oiled.

Also is anyone elses reset feel odd. I can actually hold the bolt to the rear by pressing the trigger to the rear.

500 or so rounds through my k9 now. I had one fail to fire in the first 50 rounds. No primer strike. Has not happened since.
Also my stock would collapse when fired. Every time too, not just occasionally. I emailed Kodiak explaining the issue. Two days later I had a Canada post shipping notification from them. It was a bit weird as I never received an email response from Kodiak. A week later a magpul moe stock showed up. No paperwork or information, just a new stock in a magpul box.
I was a bit disappointed as I expected at least some correspondence and liked the look of the original stock.
I ended up taking the original stock apart and modifying it to allow the lock pin to engage further and replaced the spring with a stiffer one. It seems ok now, but we’ll see.
Other than that, I paid less than a grand and am extremely happy with it. A 10” plate at a 100 yards off hand is almost too easy with a red dot and it eats anything I put in it. I have a few thousand hollow point bullets that I got for a good price and it eats them up no problem as well. I was going to load up some 147s, but may just stick to the 125s after reading above posts.
I read about the hand guard screws coming loose so I lock tighted them before I even took it out. Some were pretty loose.
$20 pmags are awesome! Cheapest magazines out of all of my guns!
