So ever since I’ve got my PAL I’ve been thinking about getting a wk180 but the more research I do on them and see reviews I hear people having problems with them up to like 1000rds. So I’m wondering if anyone can chime in and help with any other issues they have or know about them, and if they have been resolved in the newer models yet ?

I’ve heard they have been overpowered in the gas chamber and it causes the spring/rod to fail in there, as well as other common issues as well. Now with me being new to the sport like I was wondering if anyone could help steer me in the right direction with possibly purchasing one for myself or what to look for and etc

Any help would be greatly appreciated whether it’s words or pics :)

Its not an overgassed problem. The gas block can move forward and/or rotate, which causes the gas piston to #### sideways, which can result in gas piston breakage. The problem is relatively easy to solve. The Gen 2 rifle has apparently solved this problem.

Kodiak has or had an issue with not properly torquing various screws on their rifles. This is also an easy problem to solve. Be aware of the issue and go through a new rifle to make sure everything is lined up properly and torqued properly. Yes, its somewhat disappointing for a new rifle, but there is nothing in the class of a WK180 at a similar price.

I just was curious as I’ve seen a few gen 2 with scope and magpul and bipod and such for 1400-1700$

Generally the prob with buying a rifle with optics installed is that the chances the optic is what you want / need is pretty low.

The Magpul stock that comes on the WK is the cheapest version and is wobbly. We bough the normal version and then bought the proper Magpul stock to install.

True true, I’ve also come across a few that don’t have scopes. I’ll have to keep my eyes open or save some money for a BNIB one from a retail store

I want one of these bad ha! now how to convince the wife?

Better off to just buy it and ask for forgiveness afterwards lol don’t convince or ask permission … just do it and then explain it afterwards haha much easier and less pain for everyone

Best approach with your spouse assuming you are sharing finances.

You each agree to "hobby money" in your annual budget.

As long as you each stay within the $ amount planned for the year, what you each buy is not a concern to .
And if you sell something that you already had it gets kept separate

I heard that before.

Problem as I see it, you pay 1K for a firearm today and if you decide to sell it next year, you get let's say 800.

The GF/partner/wife buys make up or clothes which are essentially worth zillish after she leaves the store.

Vintage clothes, shoes, purses, etc can be worth some serious coin... in the early 2000s I had a friend who made some good money buying purses at Value Village then selling them on Ebay...

As for selling a gun you bought with your allowance, that seems pretty simple, if you sell a gun bought with your allowance then the proceeds are still part of your allowance not new money.

Explain this to a woman.

Allowance? What are you 12?

I work and make money and I'll buy whatever I damn well please. In return I never ask my wife what she spends her money on. Its called respect for the other person. The bills get paid and beyond that my money is mine and her money is her's.

I wouldn't bother explaining what I choose to buy with my money, and in fact I would expect not to be grilled / interrogated by my wife.

I agree with you for once. But more pxxies around than you think.

If my partner would start something like this, I would dig and find the old yellow phone book and highlight the section for divorce lawyers.

Life is too short for that stuff.

In fact, most people not only women will try to get the upper hand. I like those situations, unfortunately it does not happen to me anymore. I give everything but there is very solid 5 feet steel wall.

Surprisingly to some, they always back off.
