Kodiak Defense WR762 and CZ858 photo comparison

I got my deluxe WR762 from Wolverine recently too. Mine has the same tooling/machining marks on left side of the receiver.

Does the bolt catch 'stick' on yours? If I manually engage the bolt catch (with no mag inserted) it does not disengage or drop on its own when I pull back on the bolt.

Mine works fine either way.

You're either basing that on crappy pictures on the internet or you saw one that fell out of the truck. The fit and finish on mine is very nice and more than just acceptable.

I'm basing it off the clearly posted 1/8" gap I see between the steel and the lower handguard in the ops pictures.... The mating of the gas piston cover and the lower handguard is poor as well, but acceptable. The gas piston cover also isn't intseted in the rear feral either. Overall not impressed. The wood itself looks nice though, well checkered.

Yes, on mine the wood piston cover is a bit loose and not seated well with the metal fitting. I find the rest of the fitting fine though, nice and tight, no rattling, I'm sure it will look even better when put onto my cz858 receiver, since that's what the furnitures were originally from.

Cheers

The receiver is made by Kodiak Defense, then fitted with the Canadian edition wood stock from Wolverine.
I guess I should have been more specific...lol, my bad.
What's Kodiaks back ground? Are they brand new to receivers or is it someone that's been around for a while making guns but running under a different name for these?

I believe they been around for a while, they are the manufacture, they don't distribute. They are the ones who made the SKS-KD and the Scorpion SKS-15. See links below.

Thanks for all the pics! Looks pretty good to me. Anybody know how much of a weight difference there is? If I can ever accept the prices these days, I think I would like get one to go with my CZ

Claven2 , excuse my ignorance, but where is this area you are concerned of cracking (raceway flanges)? If I managed to get the right picture, are you referring to the pieces on either side at 4 and 8 o'clock? Thanks...

I have a WR762 rifle, with the Canadian made bbl. have no experience with any other CZ 58, or 858, but I sure like it. very accurate. only have about 60 through it but no FTE or FTF probs or any probs for that matter no loose handgaurds, nothing. very impressed thinking about another one actually

Very proud owner of the WR762 purchased from Wolverine. Also own the 858 Tactical 2. Love these rifles and until this afternoon, both go bang with every pull of the trigger. No exceptions... until today.

I have 83 rounds downrange with the Kodiak. The 84th did not go. No joy on the trigger - bolt carrier cycles fine. Trigger moves as it should - won't release the striker.

Having a very tough time removing the dust cover as the striker is in the rear (fire) position. I DO NOT want to force it ... she's my baby!

Any ideas?
