Komando P4 vs Canuck Operator

Wow so much butthurt! That’s a giant wall of text!

I’d rather own the 800$ one that functions identically to the 2400$ one. I don’t have to worry about round count or scratches or resale value lol. I’m not a brand whore, sorry.

Best of luck with your connoisseur collectors piece, I’ll be shooting haha

LOL...Butthurt? Why would I possibly have any of that?!?

FWIW, I don't worry about round-count or scratches either. Like most of my firearms, I purchased my M4 slightly used. Not only do I not worry about wear and tear, I avoided the high dealer price and instant depreciation associated with buying new. My genuine M4 cost me less than double the new $850 price of your "Komando". I am quite positive that I also have more rounds through my M4 than you do though your clone gun. So who's laughing now?!? LOL.....

By all means enjoy your Benelli copy. Don't let the instant depreciation to $500 residual value stress you too much. Bad for your health, or so I've heard.

The short restricted M4 is a beauty, I'd prefer non restricted but if the Turks put out a shorty I might have to bite..... :)

As far as sore bums, the M4 is not a new design and now that the design is being cloned it's looking like more people can enjoy it's reliability at a reduced cost..... I think it goes without saying that if both were on the table and we could pick one or the other as a gift we would all pick the Benelli.... but in the real world if the design is well executed it's a financial win for the average gun nut looking for a reliable semi auto shotgun.

Bartok, it's pretty clear you enjoy and own some fine weapons.... nothing wrong with that! The restricted M4's pop up at tempting prices once in a while that's for sure.

I would hope that you have more rounds through it, I’ve only owned this clone 3 weeks lol

I think we all get the point, sir. Nobody needs another wall of text. If you feel the need to further justify your desire to pay more for a brand name to yourself, please send yourself an email. Go ahead and tell yourself you have more fun than me with your gun because it says Benelli on the side.

Best of luck with your “less than double the price” functionally identical gun.

IMO there are quite a few sport shooting enthusiasts who like to get "into the game" but cannot or don't want to afford the "real thing they ultimately like" before testing other options. This is more than reasonable and that is where these clones come in and do their purpose.

Nevertheless, they may be of good quality but I would not compare them to the "ripened" originals which stood the test of time and reason.

I have... I mean a friend of a friend has one inbound !
I will share a pic for HIM once it arrives.
HE got confirmation from Marcy that it's like the one shown on O'dells website: «ghost sight separated from the picatinny rail AND black trigger»
HE simply can't wait for the thing to arrive !

Don’t care about the sights, I’ve got a red dot.

Don’t care about the black trigger, my finger can’t tell the difference.

I do care about the 5x 3” shells vs 5x 2 3/4”. I’m about to take mine apart and see if that can be changed. Some have reported it can.

Had to use a heat gun to get the mag tube off. Lots of loctite. Build quality is great.

Unfortunately it’s not a rubber plug like some have reported. There’s an aluminum plug held in by a rim machined into the tube. To change the amount of rounds it holds you would have to cut out the lip and weld in a new one. Or leave out the plug entirely but that’s illegal. Damn.

So this machined rim is on the extension end or the body end? If its in the extension end, nothing a sjhardware tube cant fix.

So the sfrc ones are the new version with the ghost ring rear and a true 5 rounds tube?

If you leave the plug out , it'll hold a tight 6 rounds , depending on what 2 3/4" shells you use , variance in manufacturer's lenghts , some brands fit better then others .
The follower won't go past the ribs in the mag tube , so leaving the plug out won't make a lot of difference, still can't get 5 rounds of 3inch shells in there

It's in the magazine tube, a red aluminum plug sits up against it. Nothing to do with the receiver.

Yes, definitely, replacing the mag tube would be a solution. But to replace the whole mag tube is kind of an expensive solution to get yourself one extra round of 2 3/4"... Too bad I can't just cut a rubber plug to the proper dimensions and jam it into the mag tube. That would be breaking the law, babies could die...

You're right. It still only holds 6x 2 3/4" with the plug out. Fits comfortably with Hornady Critical Defense buckshot and Clever T4 Mirage Pro 7.5 shot. Awesome.

To the garbage it goes...

So if I use a rotary tool on a flexible extension I could get the ribs out. Has anyone done it? I will have to measure and make sure that without the 3 ribs it doesn't fit too many 3" shells...

Alright guys !
So my buddy received his Operator from SFRC and he is happy AF !

General view
Overall.jpg

Receiver - Notice the black trigger (made of metal; trigger guard made of hard plastic)
Receiver.jpg

«CANUCK OPERATOR» - Charging handle will need to be upgraded or beffed with maybe a thick rubber tube, sub 2k style...

Rear sight: ghost ring !

Receiver's rail and ghost sight - It really looks like the M4 setup to me !

Fiber optic front sight

Beretta chokes - Notice the «X» mark, from 1 to 5 included

Disassembled

Barrel and Mag's end + Nut

Pistons
Pistons.jpg

Chrome lined barrel
Confortable rubberized pistol grip and buttpad
Trigger safety release is of good size (3/8''), triangle shape, plastic

The case has also a «X» symbol on it, red on white. User manual shows ERMOX brand, model XA-4

LOP: 10''7/8 up to 14''5/8, with about 8 positions !

EDIT: Barrel stamped with "12/76": 12GA, 76mm (3") Chamber - Thanks to Greenhorse Six!
It therefore fits 5.5 x 3'' (2.5'' unfired) and 5.9 x 2''3/4 (2.25'' unfired). You will have to follow Wal-Mart Greeter's above post to hold 6 x 2''3/4

Now we don't know why another seller states that the sellers supplied by O'Dell don't already have the latest model in hands, almost spitting on their product and arguing he will pimp his before selling them... Maybe one of the reasons we are not buying from him anymore.

Got to say we have to praise SFRC's service and communication...as always !

Only thing left is to meet my friend and test this beast !

Good call. What some on this thread are overlooking is value retention and resale. A genuine Benelli that is properly cared for will retain most of it's purchase price in terms of resale value. The clones? Not so much....

I am very glad to hear that those with the new Turkish offering are well-pleased with the value received for their money. That said, they aren't genuine Benelllis as reflected in the comparatively low retail and resale values. I certainly wouldn't turn my nose up if I didn't already own a Benelli, but it is useful to retain a realistic perspective....
The benelli usually goes for about $2600+tax so around 3k give or take . Most used ones sell for around 2k to 2400 so let’s average it to $2200 that’s an $800 loss . So essentially if u sold ur p4 for anything above $200 ur making more money than with the benelli when u resale .
That said , I would much rather have a benelli just because but just had to mention that because we’re keeping a realistic perspective right

Gee, that was a quick turnaround the mfg/importer did to correct the sight/rail and controls!

Does this one take five 3" shells?
