Kroil-- wow- this stuff cleans!

Try ATF and acetone.. Apparently PB blaster was like 3rd on this penetrating test for best pentrate oil. The mixture was #1. PB blaster it stinks and I don'[t find it works well. Its better then WD40 but not by much.
Not my experience... I don't work for PB Blaster (or Kroil) for that matter. And don't know how to conduct a truly objective "test" for penetrating oils BUT I have worked on lots of rusted fasteners (Southern Ontario) and can tell you "my experience" : WD40 is crap for rusted parts BUT is pretty good removing stains from pvc type flooring. Kroil AND PB Blaster BOTH stink! But PB Blaster works (at least quicker) and better than Kroil. That's my hands on experience...not advertising or Internet hype. If your Experience is different....wonderful.....but I keep several cans of PBB around at the farm, home and cottage. I have two large cans of Kroil as well which I bought because of what I read on line in posts like this. I will still try it occasionally... On some rusted applications where it can be poured (PBB can be sprayed)...my experience is Kroil has never removed a fastener that PB Blaster couldnt remove and frequently PB blaster works were Kroil did not..they are both similarly messy when they start breaking down the oxidation. But I am always looking for a miracle product...if there is one I haven't tryed yet. I will say that fastest way to clean a rifle bore of copper fouling is "Sweets" but it is too aggressive for most folks use and definitely needs to be washed away thoroughly by hot water (lots of it) after use!

Kroil is all I use as a bore cleaner and I've used many. Cleans the bore "squeaky" clean (literally) and even lifts and removes lead. I don't have a "kitten-like" sensitive nose so that's not an issue.

I bought a case (!) a few years ago while in the US thinking it would last a lifetime while in fact one large can will last many people a lifetime.

Matters not if people think there are better penetrating oils, it's an excellent non-abrasive bore cleaner and preservative. Even so, people get "religious" about their bore cleaner, so stay with your preference, but I recommend Kroil - it might convert you.

I work on stuff in Nova Scotia, That's a true test of rusty stuff.

Acklands/Grainger is where I bought mine. By the case and cheap with work discount for all you Funcor people.

I noticed they have the smaller 10 oz spray cans online but will call on Monday to confirm it's the same stuff and now will ask if they have the non aerosol cans thanks for the info.

I have used just about every kind of bore cleaner out there. i find wipeout to be the best, Smells a bit but it really works.

I get mine at the border bandit in Hyder Alaska, right across from Stewart BC, then fill up on halibut at the fish bus next door , its like the buckleys cough syrup of penetrating oils smells like crap works like nothing else

AP, It is the salt air and sea spray, fog and humidity that is the real evil here in the summer, and we are ( in the winter ) so dry that you can get an electric shock walking across your carpet. Kroil I use that sh*t on every thing.
