KSG status

Canadian version same as the US, let's see how long it takes to walk over here from Florida. I hope the golf cart doesn't run out of batteries while enroute.

You guys will love this:

$627.99 + Free Shipping .... Only in America. :)

I mentioned this before, but the KSG shouldn't require any modifications by Kel-tec to be allowed into Canada.
That means no barrel changes, no neutered magazines, no chamber changes, no special marking changes(ie 308win instead of 762x51mm), ect.

So, in theory, our price should be closer to the price they pay in America, then the RFB or SU16 was.

Well, in theory that would be nice. However, even if Vault gets U.S. dealer pricing they're still going to get hit with the import fees/dollar exchange/etc. and they'll want to make some cash (as will the retailers). So, instead of the $591 (free shipping/no taxes) I see down south we'll at best be looking at >$800 and all the lovely taxes (no shipping for me as I live close enough to one of the retailers). Sucks..but what are you going to do? Obviously, if the final retail gets too crazy here it would be more economical to import yourself.

On the list now. Can't wait.

Hoping that they can keep the price @ around $800~850 because they will fly off the shelves EASY.

It looks like the US MSRP will land $850-$900 from what i hear. We will find out in the next few days...My guess pricing in Canada will be over $1000, probably $1000-$1100ish. Nothing confirmed, but just an educated guess. Often people call or e-mail and ask why pricing is not the same as in the US and get irritated at Canadian dealers. Not a rant here, but just to explain it a bit: There are many factors that determine Canadian gun prices or anything imported from the States for that matter. Since Kel Tec, Smith and Wesson etc..wont deal direct with dealers in Canada there has to be a distributor who imports these firearms and puts out their capital to purchase, and store the product in Canada. There are also shipping, brokerage and insurance charges incorporated into the prices, as well as the time and effort to co-ordinate production times, shipping, import certificates, department of state approvals etc... It is amazing the amount of phone calls , paperwork and time is put into importing from the US and that time is not free. These distributors want a piece of the action and fairly so...in some cases there may be two in order to get the product into Canada unfortunately. Add a small % for the stronger U.S. dollar and a $100-$150 increase on a $900 firearm creeps up pretty quickly...

We were hoping under a $1000 but i dont think that will be the case...We should find out pretty quick as Vault distribution is working hard and nailing down costs and Production times for the first shipment into Canada!!

The pre-order list that was started last year as intact and will be used in a first in , first out (KSG) manner. Im expecting shipments of the KSG to be similar to that of the RFB...not many!!! so our list which is very long, is now very very long....have some patience on the one. But its coming!!!:ar15:

Cheers,

Gary

Over $1000??? Yea, Vault can go f**k themselves.
SU16 which required some changes, was $130 over MSRP.
KSG, no change in production necessary, is $200 over MSRP?

This is a forum, no need to hold back, you can tell us how you really feel.

It costs what it costs, It is not bread and meat. I can live without it.

but I won't ... I think I am pretty early on that list!

as explained above by wanstalls.... f:P:
f:P:
Yea, he did. But did not explain why the KSG would require more importing fees, handling, ect. then the SU16 which had changes made to manufacturing to be Canada legal/USA Export legal.
I have no problem with Wanstalls, vault appears to be #######s.

Capitalism is a beautiful thing, if their pricing is excessive or abusive there is no reason you can't go into business and do them in.
