KSG vs 870? Kewl vs Reliable?

Choke adapter turns a $900 gun into a $2500 one?

First off MRSP isn't 900.00 it's 1300.00 if you haven't read kel tecs recent press release in the USA so that turns into probably like 1800.00+ in canada, second it's called supply and demand and third if the ksg's were 900 I would have a safe full of them for the price I paid for all 4 of mine.

$1197 if you wanna get technical, http://www.keltecweapons.com/our-guns/shotguns/ksg/

If it was imported through usual avenues and they kept up with demand, it would be a $1400 (tops) gun in Canada.

I'd spend $2500 if it was the last gun left on earth, but to pay 100% markup is ludicrous when there are so many other guns available for sane prices on the market.

Ok so 1200.00 plus 250$ for import from a canada dealer, plus shipping from USA dealer to FFL dealer, then shipping to canada dealer and then to your door plus taxes and duty, and you will never ever see a dealer that has them "in stock" in canada or the USA. Gunbroker is the ONLY place in the usa that has them and check those prices. so MRSP is in the history books, and the longer people wait the higher the prices will be. Look at 6 months ago they were selling on the ee for 1500.00 and people kicked and screamed, I bet now they are begging to pay 1500.00 haha

Not sure why this is being discussed anyway. I don't care what the gun sells for, at $2500 its severely overpriced. Obviously some people like it enough to buy 1 (or 4) but that doesn't make it "worth it"... frankly Im not at all sure why people spend that much money on it.

Haha I do love em...have you ever held one or shot one? You really have to shoot one to understand but I guess they're not for everyone but anyways no sense arguing back and forth lets just say we have different choices in shotguns

So when are Dsiwy and Fishingismylife going to throw their shotguns down the stairs to see which ones survive? Location please so we can come and watch, I'll bring some beer and pretzels. :D

I am not convinced the KSG can stack up to the 870 in terms of reliability and durability, and just look at that price tag. Unless you want to pay an obscene amount of money for "cool", go with the Remi.

Please go and take a shotgun class with your KSG(s). You will have to get it(them) dirty and/or muddy.

Held a KSG just once, for what it is worth.

Topping off the mag, while keeping the target covered just seems, kinda awkward...

Not a problem with a normal stocked shotgun, pump or semi...

Kudos to the Auto-5 with a 2-piece lifter!

It's a Keltec pos that's enough to leave it at the gun store. I still can't believe anyone would buy a keltec pos anything.

Hope that the marginal profit is the only reason. Or there could be something else? Hmmmmmm.

Marginal profit? I'd say doubling your investment is a pretty good return! I still have no idea why anyone would pay upwards of $2500 for a pump shotgun of this kind, but clearly there's still somewhat of a market out there for it.

You really have to see one in person and shoot one to understand because they are awesome little guns. I love all of my ksg's and don't regret paying what I did for any of them. Worth every penny to me and I have been talking with keltec and vault and it does not look good for Canadians at all for kel tec guns or accessories so if you have one in hand they are going to be worth even more once the word spreads

I like shooting all guns. But when it costs $2500 my expectations are pretty damn high, considering even the manufacturer doesn't deem it worth half that :)

Nothing against the gun, just saying its overpriced at current market value.

Regarding them being worth more in the future... I just don't see it. Kel-Tec doesn't exactly have a reputation for making high-end anything, and in my opinion the prices are about as inflated as they're ever gonna get. Sell 3, keep 1, and buy other stuff! :)

My idea of a perfect shtf shotgun is an 870 with 18-22 inch bbl and a mag extender. It's going to be used for close range defense and predation control and not much else. Waterfowl, grouse and small game will be hunted mostly with a .22 rimfire, not a scattergun. The .22 makes less noise and the ammo is easier to store and carry. 5000 rounds of 22LR doesn't have a big signature but 5000 rounds of 12 gauge shells sure does.
