labaron sports - what is there is problem

The cabelas website sorta sucks lol. They had some in the saskatoon store the other day(seen about 100 cases lol) in 12ga.

good to know .. thanks .. WSS was pissing off at first .. sent pal info and then 4 or 5 days later recieved a call stating they were waiting for pal ... mailed and told them to cancel order if they couldnt find for already sent ... since then I deal with one person thru email .. and maybe she can get it going for me .. for my orders are shipped from toon town.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

Sorry - I can laugh now, but I had pretty much the EXACT same experience last summer. Tried to get a case of 28 gauge steel, unavailable anywhere else (local, WSS, Cab).

No sense in repeating due to the similarity, but after the order was deemed undeliverable and returned to sender (CANPAR was equally inept) it was sent out again..

It eventually was delivered to my work address (and handed over to the secretary). The way to satisfy all was to give the impossible-to-find rural address to LeBaron, and include a phone number to call when Canpar can't find it. They (or more likely the sub-contractor, or sub-sub contractor) just want to deliver it & tick the box, so they'll drop it off anywhere in the nearest town.

I made the order in June, and got the ammo in November - long after the ducks had gone south. Never again...

tried just giving my home location address (and was pretty sure canpar would call when they tried to deliver and would then just tell to drop off at local business as everyone else does)... she went as far as to say it was the one associated to my pal (so she must've called someone) ... she must also of called canpar because she called back to say canpar wont deliver.

YUP .. NEVER AGAIN

I'm amazed they're still in business.

Even when I worked near the Markham store, I encountered the old "sold out" or "can't get it" far too often.

The only thing they seem good for is the occasional clearance shoes .....

And yes, I tried to order some ammo yesterday with the same success as the OP, and the same runaround.:bangHead:

I think it's a store policy. i don't like it but it's right next to the ammo section on there pitiful website.
i have had pretty good luck when i go in looking for a specific gun or ordering online. friends have not been so lucky.....

Firearms and Ammunition Ordering:
To purchase a firearm, you must provide a valid Possession and Acquisition Licence (P.A.L.) number, along with your birth-date, place of birth, and permit holder's address. To purchase ammunition you must provide a valid P.A.L. or a Possession Ownership Licence (P.O.L.).
Please note that these products can only be shipped to the permit holder's address. Firearms and hazardous materials cannot be shipped outside of Canada.

if its store policy that fine with me ,, even if it is a bit wako .. thanks for pointing that out .. didnt see it. Would've been easier if the clown on the phone told me that instead of insisiting it was law .. grr

I frequent the mississauga store and although they are out of items from time to time...mostly they have what i need in stock

With that being said though, they need to upgrade to 2012 and get some technology in that store.

CanPar seemed equally inept in my saga... I did check on their website when first told the package was undeliverable and found that they DID deliver to my area! I used that as evidence - relayed to LeBaron - who relayed to CanPar. Incompetence ruled the whole exercise, but I did find one woman in LeBaron who did her best to straighten things out. Shame I can't remember her name now....

Phoned online order number 1 800 567 3377(which is based out of quebec) and ask if they have Winchester AA 12 gauge in stock. Lady says I have to call 514 381 4584 and ask for ammo, and that she only takes orders. So call that number several times and its busy. So call the 1 800 number again and and explain I want to order something and 514 number was busy. She says its not busy now ... she can tell ... so call 514 again and get thru and they only have 2 boxes left. I ask the lady if can order from her or if i have to call the 1 800 ... she says I will transfer you. (why didnt the twit at the order desk transfer me instead of telling me I had to phone??)
Classic LeBaron right there. I don't buy ANYTHING from them just because of that.

I miss the old Russell Sports.

.

Lebaron is good to me overall. Well, at least the Markham store.
I was forced to place an order online because the markham and mississauga stores didn't have a specific gun that was on liquidation.

Here's the email I got:
"Thank you for placing an order at Le Baron Outdoor Products. This e-mail confirms that we have received and will process your order within 10 days"
-seriously?! 10 days to process an order?
-and there isn't any confirmation of shipping costs prior to submitting the order!

If it wasn't for the over and above service from some of the guys in the gun shop, I'd be going to Sail!

It's like that in the Ottawa store too, every time I go there I end up leaving with nothing that I came for. I honestly don't know why I waste the time driving there... yet I keep doing it... lol

lol I do the same thing. I leave mad, empty handed and vowing never to come back ........ but I always do. :HR:

The store does have its faults however I live 20 mins away and only by ammo. They have the cheapest 12 gage shells around and I just picked up some more Remington 9mm for 60 dollars for 250 rounds not a bad price.

Never ordered on line. One thing that gets me. I think they just stick the special sticker on things so you can't get your 10% discount

Back when they used to be one of the only shows in town that actually stocked stuff I used to bite the bullet and buy from them. They were usually out of stock and very rude, but the price was right and it was convenient.

Now that there are so many more places to get what I need online or in person, I never even given LeBaron a second thought when shopping for something. I am just hoping they will slowly fade away in the shadow of stores with much better stock and customer service.

He meant the address associated with his PAL.

However that makes no sense at all unless they have a way of getting that info from the CFC and cross reference it with the shipping address to see if they match. But why? There is no legal requirement for that as far as I know.

it easy the go to the rcmp website go to web services for buisness , click on sell firearm to an individual and when the enter you pal number is shows your full name, place of birth classes of pos/aqs and address then they just exit the sessione its easy as pie

Really? Which "stores with much better... service" are you speaking of (In GTA)? Other than Al Flaherty's, the two Lebarrons are the only non mega box game left in this town.

My experience has been with the Markham store too. Within the last 5 years I have seen steady improvement in their customer service. Gun room boys have surprised me a few times with unsolicited, expected additional service/advise.

last gun i purchased in person was a remington superslug 2 years ago and when i handled the one on display it was full of scratches so i asked them to look in the back for one in a box.... the older guy behind the counter rolled his eyes and said it would get scratched when i go hunting with it.... one of the other guys said "i'll go look for you" and came back with one that was never opened and i took it, then i asked the older guy for a leupy ultimate slam in 3-9x40 and he looked at me again and said that scope is too big for a shot gun scope. he "does gun smithing as a hobby" so he knows what he's talking about..... i told him i wanted it to shoot out to 200 yrds with it, you should have seen the looks he gave me. who the hell is he to tell me what i do or don't need or what i can or can't do with it. never said i was going to shoot at a deer at 200 yrds with it, just that i wanted to take shots out to 200 yrds. and if i did it would be none of his buisness and boils down to ethics and that's different from one person to another. i do it with my muzzleloader and my 20ga T/C barrel one with another ultimate slam and one with redfield with accurange. both 3-9x40 but apparently they're to big for my set up.
i just avoid him know when i look at stuff. still have had pretty good luck with stock. i'm going on thursday for some slugs.
