Land Permission

Reason # 4565873 why I'd just suck it up and take what I could get on crown land.

I have not hunted private land for at least a decade. There is still enough crown land around here that I have a few good spots within a reasonable driving distance.

But I can now hunt on my acreage, Bow only, if I want. Oh and I can get 2 more antlerless deer tags on top of the regular deer tags for this WMU :)

really need to get that tree house built :)

i usually get a few people on camera tresspassing but never know who they are. one year had a couple of guys on several cams on dec 31st walking around and found rubber gloves (57 of them) hanging on tree branches in the spring when pulling the cams, assuming they were tracking a deer in the snow and using the gloves to mark blood sign. i have no problem if you're looking for a hit deer BUT come and let me know and pick up your $hit........... if i ever have to go over the fence, i always go ask so they know next door and it's never a problem.
i just pulled some trail cam cards yesterday and 2 perfect pics of quads and plate #'s this time.............
no idea who they are but kinda pissed they're driving under my stand in bow season, they're really lucky i wasn't in the stand and at work that day.
Who takes an entire box of gloves hunting with them??

During hunting season but the tracks it looks like someone shot approx 400 yards down a cut line in my bush pasture from an undeveloped road allowance. They then dragged the deer the 400 yards through 2 fences and loaded it on a quad. Drove 3/4 mile to road and gutted the deer beside the road. Quite sure they knew they did not have permission to hunt there or they would have driven the quad in to pick up the deer. But karma rules they dropped a Buck 119 knife beside the gut pile.

To be fair disposal gloves are really handy in the field if you have to drop a Deuce, things go south and you have a train wreck....

I don't want to know

just a hint they make these things called baby wipes and they come in nice little packages that easily fit in a pocket. You can use them on things other then babies.... just saying :)

Agreed.
Wet Naps are worth their weight in gold out in the field......

They are both handy in the field but you don't waste them if you are the one paying for them

PS some take out restaurants especially chicken joints give out individually wrapped wet wipes for free

Wet naps are made of polyester and do not biodegrade. They are not toilet paper, they are plastic litter! Anybody using them on my land isn't going to be invited back. Ever.

Yeah this is the first I’ve heard of this... anyone I’ve ever hunted with has just packed a flattened out 1/3 roll in their pack. I’m trying to even picture putting a slimy little kfc wet nap to that use, and I’m not liking the prospects. I’ll stick with the tp.

Now, I do carry some in my field dressing kit, along with a pair of rubber gloves, cow birthing gloves, bandaids, zip locks, etc. but all that gets wrapped up and comes out of the field with me.

I suppose... if one was brave enough, they could bring some doggy doo doo bags with them to collect and remove their ass-soiled kfc wet naps...?

I own several properties and I allow some hunters on the land but few of them are truly respectful of the land. Small things like setting up a target and then just leaving it for me to clean up ...WTF?

My new rule is they need to cut firewood for me ok no barter to access my property. Otherwise bugger off.

It my family's property but we have some good friends that are part of the group.

Saturday after the early morning hunt its a work day. It has been this way for well over 20 yrs.

Every guy puts in about 3 hrs of what ever my uncle has on the list that year.
Cut wood, empty a barn, burn brush etc. We get a lot accomplished!

Then we do fun trap shoot, game dinner and late night cards.

Its honestly one of my fave days of the entire year.

Toilet paper and a small plastic bottle of water (Gatorade style) with dish detergent in my pack. Been doing this for a very long time. The bottle is reusable, cleans your hands and your butt. Works very well, I start with warm water, but it’s usually cool by the time I use it. It also works well for cleaning your hands after gutting an animal. I use the bottle all season then put it in the recycle box, simple and effective. I also use septic tank tp, it composts faster.

absolutely, I have little bags of 1/3 rolls of TP everywhere in my hunting kit, in the pack, in the truck, with the quad, in my jacket pocket.

the baby wipes are for those times that things just don't come out clean, after a week of living in the woods with minimal cleaning, I'm sort of hairy and sometimes TP is just not going to do the job :)

the alternative is always snow and spruce branches, it does leave a nice fresh sent but its a little rough on the bunghole.....

Baby wipes are NOT something that anybody in the outdoors should ever use! Just because they work, and are nice and soft, clean and white, and smell good ( before you use them) you are leaving plastic garbage in the bush with your DNA on it. Be ashamed.
