Just wondering what guys have experienced with lapua brass in terms of longevity ? Normally I would reload brass 4-5 times and then replace it. Obviously keeping an eye on wear and such. I've read that you can get upwards of a dozen reloads out of lapua brass ? So basically is it worth the $ ?

Do you target shoot? Or do you Hunt with it?........The groups will get smaller yes! Are you picking brass out of grass after your shots? losing a few.... YES you will get 4-5 more reloads out of lapua,If your a target shooter only route to go!! Hunter NO

If you load to reasonable pressures, and you don't overwork the brass, Lapua brass will easily last for well over a dozen loadings. Some people are getting in excess of twenty firings or more.

Some benchrest guys online claim 30-40+ reloads from Lapua brass. They also say they anneal every loading.

Tom Sarver, I believe the current world record holder with a 1.403" group at 1000yards, claims his record breaking group was set with Lapua brass on it's 58th loading. That was with a wildcat he called the 300 Hulk which is a 338 Lapua Magnum case necked down for a .308" bullet. I have no idea what kind of pressure it peaks at which greatly effects brass life.

Many people online will vehemently refute claims like these and call all these people liars. I've never used Lapua brass so can't say but have gotten RP and Win brass to 7-8 firings, annealing every 3-5 firings, and still haven't lost a case to a split or loose primer pocket.

I use Lapua for my .308. I'm working on my 8th reload. Pockets are still tight and no splits. I anneal after every 4 firings. (spinning drill)

When I first got my rifle, I bought 20 rounds off the shelf (won't say what brand). I was going to reload these, but none of the primer pockets would hold a cap.

I just got a .223 and I will use nothing but Lapua in it. Reloading materials are getting expensive... you might as well use the best... C.

Spoke with Randy Robinett for help on building a 30 br and trying to get some of his bullets shipped to Canada rifle, who makes bibbs bullets and a very very good benchrest shooter and bullet maker
He said his 30br has 8000 rounds down the pipe and still very very accurate, and he uses Lapua 6br cases necked up to 30 cal and has fired those cases 200 times. I never asked him if he annealed but I would think he did.

Well worth the $(saves you $ really) and good supply from Hirsch precision.

Lapua brass isn't expensive if you compare it to others like nosler, norma, and even some hornady. Less per case in most situations and a better product for sure, if lapua makes brass for it I use it

I have a large batch of .308 Lapua brass. No idea how many times it has been fired, but it has outlasted 4 barrels. Never been annealed and I have maybe tossed 25-30 rounds, 3-4 split necks and some loose primer pockets.

This is the truth. I used to think it was expensive until I priced hornady match 308 brass. $3 cheaper per 100 to go lapua. Saw nosler brass today and it was $85 per 50. Lapua seems to be a bargain for what you are getting.
