Sure, here it is in it's welfare glory. It's a Savage action with a 28 inch Montana rifleman barrel and brake, Stockade stock, Sharpshooter trigger and bolt handle, Wolf spring, AGW 20 MOA rail, Mark 4 rings and 8.5-25 Mark 4.
I snuck one in of my range as well. That little rectangle across the water is a sheet of plywood at 730 yards.If you look carefully down the trail you will see backboards at 200, 330, 500, 650, 730 and one that I can't see at 768. There's gongs at 330, 500, and 650 and another target board at 450 that you can't see. It's still a work in progress. I'm thinking reloading shack.

MP, remember that the bolt face doesn't support the case AT ALL. That is what the barrel is for. The bolt face just allows the extractor and ejector to work.

As long as the flat surface is squarely on the case head and the lugs are seated in the receiver, it's all good. Its only job is to stop the case from moving backwards when fired.

Take one of your barrels and drop an empty case into the chamber.
All that will stick out is the extractor groove. When cases are properly sized to the chamber, nothing is outside the barrel.

Not exactly, but I did put the hurt on a bunch of mulie does last year. One bunch was scattered on a field, and I remember thinking "Hey, 650, I know this one". Took two out of that bunch. The buck in the picture was 546, 6 mile per hour half force right wind.

I don't know, it was on the rifle when I bought it used. I bedded it, fixed the trigger up, changed to a AGW rail, drilled and tapped the mounting holes to 8-32,(One was stripped) swapped out the rings and scope, and got Redding to cut a custom sizing die that didn't dent cases. The tweaking took a little while, but that's the way it goes. It works now.

With a bit of work, a reg. magnum bolt head can be opened up to work with the LM case. The extractor will also need to be shortened but I think the ejector is ok where it is.

As for buying the head, you will need to get that from a Savage rifle. I was expecting to hear about the reg. Savage coming out in this cal but so far nothing?

Well, the Geovids HDs kick the 1200s butt as a rangefinder. More interesting to me is that I can see bullet trace with the geovids, something I haven't been able to do with binos before. Toward the end, we were lobbing them just to watch 'em fly.

The swaro is better as a rangefinder, hands down. The thing is, the Geovids are plenty good enough for any sane (And some insane) use and come with a quality binocular. The combination of the two tools is a revelation, and not only because do you not have to carry two pieces of equipment.
Within the first day of using the Geovids, I had developed the habit of randomly rangeing while glassing. By the time you see something you already have a plan in place to kill it.
I don't know about you, but I can shoot faster than I can put binos down, take a LRF out of pouch or pack, find the animal again and range it.

Although very inexpensive, the Nikon EX Action binos are great for spotting shots and watching the trace. I have a 12X60 and it does a wonderful job spotting as far as I want to go.

Does a very good job of seeing mirage too.

Make sure it is the Extreme line as that has the better optics. The reg. Action line up is not all that good.

Glad the Leicas are working for you. They make such nice glass.

How do those Geovids range on sunny days? On light coloured surfaces?
