Lar15 Mag Coupler Ideas *Pic Heavy*

That makes sense...2 up and 2 down, side by side... It's sturdy, compact, and easy to change mags.

KISS. And 40-rounds, legally.

Not trying to discourage innovation but that "Octo-mag" looks like you would need a 2 man team for a mag change...

The weight probably nixes it for me, as well. The fleshlight suggestion was funny, though. ;)

Nice Idea, Very creative.

And people will harass you for thinking out of the box. But if all inventors stayed in the box we would never go anywhere. Hell even the AR-15 was ridiculed because it was an out of the box type of design at the time, now look at it.

Otherwise there will be no one getting ripped apart in Dragon's Den for our entertainment.

Oh come on, 80 rounds of .223 isn't that heavy :)

I personally though changing would be easier. You drop the mag, rotate, an d re-insert.
Rigidity of each magazine a good point. I guess I need to have one built and see what it handle like.

You're forgetting the 8-position ring. And the fleshlight... ;)

The LAR15's aren't exactly known for their rigidity... The most ideal setup would be an "H" coupler that allows you to connect four (4) LAR15's - staggered on the top and bottom and offset so as to not interfere with the ejection port.

From a practical standpoint, anything more than 4 LAR15's is probably pushing the weight and storage/carry aspect.

I'm having trouble imagining what you're thinking of.

I thought of this, but it would have a bit of off center weight rolling the firearm (as opposed to pitch and yaw).
