Large Game Pics - Deer, Moose, Bear...

Four days of watching the herd and trying to find a way to get in on them that would actually work. After a couple attempts that didn't, it finally all game together on day 4 when I got to play a game of "There are 70 elk in this herd but 71 pairs of eyes as well. OK, which one of you is the hunter?" It was quite a thing, getting to within feet (not yards) from some of the cows before the big guy appeared back in the timber. Hands down, one of the most exciting hunting experiences of my life.

Not much of a story, went out opening day. Was still hunting an area that had been productive for me in the past. Was coming up to a ridgeline and as I started to crest I seen a small buck, not an opening day buck for me but it had a doe with it and I had an anterless tag. As I'm getting set up to shoot the doe this buck come out of the brush with another somewhat smaller buck. I switched over to this buck and sent it.

Now if I could only find a doe....

Wow , great pics everyone, and congrats!!
Looking like a good season for CGN's hunters. Still some time left in the season and I have one more deer tag to fill

Awesome pictures, everyone!

My first this year was a trip to Alberta, still hunting and rattling in some big woods.

Second was during muzzleloader season in my east coast homeland. For fewer deer, but I had the pleasure of tracking deer all day on fresh snow. This was at the very end of the most physically demanding day of my life, a true hunt to remember with a great friend by my side.
