Had a great evening sealing the deal on this black bear. 80 yard shot w/ the 8x57js. A single 180gr Barnes TSX bullet at 2780fps, dropped the bear on the spot. Nice entry and exit hole with very little meat damage.
That's a beauty, what kind of rifle and distance was the shot?

Blacktail are my favorite animal to hunt though my spots these days are along the upper Lillooet.
I used to live down in the lowermainland and know the mountains of the chilliwack valley very well. There is some very healthy deer populations up in those mountains. Our hunts were mainly between the river and rider lake and way back on the north east slopes of chilliwack lake. Good to see some solid genetics coming out of that area, tell your buddy congrats. Hope he gets a shoulder mount done that would be epic.
