my first moose, last Sunday,

one 30-06 silvertip at 294 meters, and it fell 3 meters in front

the antlers are not something to be proud of, but they are good enough for me and my group.

Found this bunch yesterday.
Seven does and a buck.
The buck had a spike on one side and a fork on the t'uther.
I too beleaf the four point jeans is becoming a rare thing.

You found a whole flock there Looky! 4 pointers still around in moose though. Is that a fence I see in the foreground?

Some does have antlers. Usually barren does with hormone issues. Looks like it has ticks as well.

Hey, no offense meant by the "ticks" thing. Our caribou have ticks in the early fall, and most deer that I've encountered in early season have. I've eaten blacktail on Galiano a long time ago! Tender and sweet!

a coworker of my wife showed us some weird pics of a buck he got this season up here in the bc cariboo region. It looked just like the "antlered doe" you have in your pics except it only had a bunghole and no other hole. Upon gutting it, the male parts were found inside the pelvic cavity and the ##### had formed inside it's anus , pointing backwards.
I'll see if I can get copies of the pics emailed to me.

A close friend of mine [now deceased] shot an antlered doe
whitetail deer several decades ago in the Salmon Arm area.
Biologist said it was the 2nd one he had seen that year. Odd,
but stranger things happen.

That Salmon Arm area would cough up a Whitetail/Muley hybrid
on occasion. Dave.

This is my first northern sask bush moose. After 5 years of unfilled tags in the bush it felt really good to finally cut a tag. We saw quite a few moose and this is the first one that gave me a shot. Also got quite a few ruffed grouse on this trip as well. Used the 7mm08.

7mm08 seems a bit big for ditch chickens....
