I have a few Larue items and in my opinion they are second to none. I will never purchase any ADM product purely due to integrity issues. On that point I firmly agree with Mark's posts on ARFcom. I would consider some of the other manufacturers out there if Larue was not available when I wanted a product, but I will never own an ADM product.
I own Larue mounts and rails, Samson rails, YHM mount and rails, KA rails and ARMS mounts. Prefer the fit and finish of the Larue but not the price tag. Given a choice I will take a Larue. For some reason I always end up finding what I want, just take's a bit more time and digging. Patience and money is what it realy comes down to in the end.
If Mark Larue was the least bit interested in selling his stuff to Canadians, he could have let someone on our side of the border sort it out a long time ago with no real time or effort on his part. I also call b/s on 'too busy filling other orders' -that is a total cop out.

LaRue makes good stuff, no doubt but they are not the only dog in this hunt, despite the rantings of Mark LaRue and his followers everyone who owns an ADM mount seems to be very happy with it, tme will tell.

Yes, im very pleased with mine, but as you said, time will determine if they have the quality and longevity that LaRue stuff does.
Im not sure why everybody seems to be hammering on ADM. The split ring design is just that, a good design. LaRue and ADM are not the only companies using the split ring.
And as for the cantilevered scope mounts, they are not "copies" like they say they are supposedly. They're designed to be a certain height, and give a certain eye relief. It just so happens that LaRue used this same method, and came out with something similar, before ADM did.

I dont think its a question a integrity.
There are not a dozen ways of making quick disconnect platforms.
As far as the scope clamp system, there are only 2 axis you can mount the screws onto. I am not pissing on either brands, but it seems that as soon as another company get a similar product out, it gets smashed on instantly.
Larue did not event the wheel noor is there any patent infrigment so whats the deal ,I have meet Mark @ Shot several times and have spoken to him Nice enough guy .But in the US there are different camps and lot of people dont think highly of Mark much like any firearms or related bussiness.
This is exactly why export restrictions are a good thing in many ways. They will force the birth of Canadian industries. Canadian businesses serving canadian consumer can only help our cause when we fight the government of restrictions. If we mean so much to the economy, then they can't afford to close us down. Right now we have too few manufacturers. We need Candadian machinists to stand up and start making better mounts, Home-rolled ammo, and maybe, just maybe a firearm or two. We can build for the export market as well, but what we need most is manufacturing capacity.
