Hello all
Recently found this type 99 Nagoya arisaka and would like to learn more about it, the bolt was missing the cocking piece when I found it, was able to find an early type 99 cocking piece for now to complete it but am on the hunt for one of the crude late war ones. The bolt matches the reciever. The bore on this rifle is mint. It has a 3 piece stock which I understand is correct for the last ditch rifles. This rifle appears to have been made very quickly and rushed out to the front! What year was it made in? I imagine it was made in the late 44 or early 45 but I’m not 100 percent sure! The mum has been partially ground but is still visible. Has a wooden buttplate that is secured by 3 nails! It has what I believe is the American soldiers name engraved on the buttstock, I have searched the name online and it appears that he served in the United States Navy in the war, so it must have been brought home after the war and then made it here somehow. What would a rifle like this be worth? Any info on the rifle would be much appreciated! Thank you!
