Finger off the trigger, muzzle down range. Its not that hard!
Actually it is the point...
For sanctioned matches
These matches are sanctioned by IPSC Ontario (Level 1 & 2) or the IPSC (International) Sanctioning committee for Level 3 and up
Having everyone certified means that our members know that they're not standing on the range next to someone who may not possess the skills required to shoot this style of pistol at speed and do it safely...
There's alot more to it than finger off the trigger and muzzle down range.
Come out to a santioned match some time and see for your self.
There is no such thing as "certification lite" nor will we ever be opening up that can of worms.
For Club Level matches
These are not sanctioned by IPSC Ontario and although the majority of clubs do follow IPSC policy...it's entirely up to the club how the matches are organized and who they let participate.
