Later "French Tickler" Type 56s compared to other Chinese SKS?

In my experience the tickler has the best trigger out of all the Chinese sks's,heck it's even better then the Russians I had in the past

Oh yeah?

The Chinese triggers being in general better than the Russians across the board has been a thing for me. Has your experience been the opposite?

At this point I might buy a used one at Cabelas if it means skipping the cleaning....as long as its in decent shape.
I've scrubbed enough cosmo off of enough surplus rifles at this point in my life. Yeah, I know...weird lol.
I'm late to the party on this one, but I think even the ones from Cabela's will need cleaning, at least that's what I've seen from some of the reviews. Mine I picked up from a local gun store, and even though they said it was cleaned, the spots of cosmoline on the outside said otherwise! Glad I did, as it was a mess!

Right on lol. Ended up buying a blade bayo version and yeah it absolutely needed a clean too but it was a lot better than other rifles I've had where it was just slathered in Cosmo all over

Yep they're definitely still caked in cosmoline.

I'm not an SKS guy, but I've owned a bunch over the years, usually just one at a time. My second-best one in terms of accuracy was a Chinese one something like 25 or 30 years ago; it was head-and-shoulders above any other one before or since...until I got another Chinese one recently, one of the "French ticklers" being discussed. I bought it at Cabela's...from out of a guy's trunk in the parking lot where we had set up our meet. :) Looked unissued, super clean, nice wood, easy 2-3MOA accuracy once I cobbled a red dot onto it, and a trigger that seemed noticeably lighter and crisper than any other SKS I'd ever shot. By the time I finished shooting up my hoard of corrosive ammo...hell, I almost wanted to keep the thing! :)

For those of you who are using your newest batch of FTs, what are you seeing for accuracy?

I know these are not target rifles, but wondering if these are noticeably better than older batches of Chinese or Russian.

Well, the FTs are often "Un-issued" so a brand new Bore helps. My FT was in Cosmo and definitely was Un-fired beyond the 1-2 test shots at the factory ( I'm assuming it was tested? ) The recoil of the bolt in semi will eFF your aim if not held 'snugly'.
