Don't apply common sense. Lead shot is toxic to the fish in those grain fields.
Hey guys, getting excited for the season opening this saturday, I was just wondering if you were allowed to use lead shot on Canadian Geese or not? We will not be hunting over water, but in a field. Any insight?
Thanks
Who's allowed to shoot them with a .22?

What am i missing? what happened in 1999?I think it was September 1, 1999, but your point is made.![]()
I believe that is when the rule changed to prohibit the use of toxic shot on migratory birds. What am i missing? what happened in 1999?
haha this gave me a good laugh, essentially exactly what i was thinking. I figured so, but I had a box of lead shot laying around and wanted to see if i could use it or not. Thanks for the info guys!
But lead weights are ok on down riggers , commercial fishing and sport fishing . It's very understandable .... Isn't it
