lead wheel weights going bye-bye?

Alot of them now arent lead. I think its zink they use.

This. They've been using alternative metals for years. Sometimes they're lead, sometimes they're not. I wouldn't be worried about tree huggers on this one though, if anything its the tire shops looking for cheaper alternatives.

My thoughts exactly and availability

I just picked up a bucket full from a small town tire shop. I haven't gone thru them yet but hopefully at least 1/2 are lead

It started in 2006. Been gone from all new cars for years now
Just some big trucks still using the odd one here
Cheers

Last time i went through the catalog for wheel weights, they were still listing all different lead wheel weights. They still make them, they still sell them.

Much like or guns, laws are slowly creeping in that restrict the use of lead. There has been no major ban that i know of

They make them but few shops use them and I think no new cars install them at all
Cheers
I am not sure of the status of this

Stock up while you still can!
You don't have to feed it so it does not hurt having it.

Last buckets I bought I still had enough lead to zinc/steel ratio to make it worthwile. One tire place had substantially more steel and zinc ones in the mix than another place so I'm not going back there.

LOL Yep and I have 95 or 96 twenty five pound bags of lead shot I stashed from skeet/ trap shooting over the years
Old sail boats have huge amounts in them also if one can find one being scrapped
take care

ONLY 16.8 million grains of lead? But that'll only make 56000 300gr pills! Lol

As long as I get to use it before it gets banned some day
I listened to what was the old timers at the club way back which was when you do your yearly club component/ reloading order add a bit more every year and stash it to have when you retire and your cash flow is not as great so your shooting doesn't get impacted
I listened right or wrong :) and am now retired
Cheers

Think of banning lead as Govt backdoor method of gun control as you can't get or make ammo for the guns you own. Devious really. All in the name of saving the environment a politically correct lie.

Lead wheel weights are banned in Europe and California, The lead gets carried way from the roads by the rain and ends up in the drinking water.

But I also once heard that orange juice causes cancer in ### rats, so what are you going to do.

Lead float's in those area's?!

Lead float's in those area's?!

Why is so much gold found in rivers and streams and gold does not float.

The pulverized lead also becomes airborne, have you heard of un-leaded gas.

It doesn't bother me, I stopped casting bullets in 1982 because the wheel weights contained so much junk metal that contained toxic heavy metals.

If you don't think airborne lead doesn't have any effect on the human body, just look at how friggin nuts Trump is.

Signed bigedp51 one of the many never trumpers....................and thinking of immigrating to Canada.

Have guns will travel. ;)
