Sadly the CA firearms are now confined to the safe and can no longer be transported to a range for shooting. They were a lot of fun to shoot and, because of their weight and buffering by gas systems and springs, made shooting full powered rounds like the .303 and .30-06 a very mellow experience. The BAR and BREN were real pussycats for recoil and the M1/M1928 Thompson virtually eliminated any recoil effect of the .45ACP. The general public is much safer because of this though. Just think of all of those 7-11 stores that have never been robbed by duly registered 12(3) firearms in the hands of MILSURP collectors.
