I been casting for a few years now from black powder to centerfire and pistol. I gave the shotgun slug a go with both Lee & Lyman slugs but never found an accurate load. But buckshot on the other hand I'm sure I can get a good group (spread). After all a 3" load of 00 Buck is what I used to harvest a nice w.t. buck last fall, so this got me to thinking why not just cast my own. I do have a Lee .32 cal round ball mold for my flintlock squirrel gun but it only casts two at a time.
I read an article in Handloader a while back on the Lee mold and now I want to give it a shot. I have a couple pounds of pistol/shotgun powder to use and plenty of wads and hulls. My buckshot will be cast from wheel wts and water dropped but I might give some pure lead water dropped a try too and see which shoots best.
Anyone here cast there own buckshot with the Lee? What loads have worked well for you?
Thx in advance
