Yup....correct
I picked up 2 bags at the last local gun show for next to nothing
The hole punches , at least larger than 1/2 in may not fit into the chuck of the drill press ( I know 5/8 dia. is the biggest I can get in mine) ,but you can still hammer punch the wads. I like to put a block of wood in the vice with the end grain up and cut into that it seems to be easier on the punch.
I have a bunch of winchester A wads but found with the lee 1oz slug it would sit down too far and can't find shot cards anywhere. I just picked up the clay buster 7/8 wad (cb0178-12) and I seat that and the crimp folded nice. I also trimmed the petals half off. Haven't shot any yet. Any opinions on doing it this way?

Do you have the link to princess auto for the punch?
I hear you. Had my press for about twelve years and never touched it. Casting has sure opened a few doors. I use clay buster lightening wads. Just picked up another bag and one more of the CB windjammer wads.Yomomma, nice setup. I did the same with the Grey clay buster 7/8 wad cutting the petals to about the same height as you seem to be doing. Wish I could get some free time to try shooting them. What wad is that you're using in that photo?
Of those win AA wads I have I loaded up a couple shells using some cards I punched with a hollow punch but they seemed to bulge even worse than the clay buster wad. Man, 30 years of metallic reloading under my belt and 5 presses and try this shotgun thing and I feel like a noon again. Haha
