Lefty lightweight rifles?

Unfortunately, most of these rifles aren’t actually light.

Bingo. My goal is a bare rifle under 6lbs - the Kimber hunter is only 5lb 7oz and would at the top of my list if it was available in a lefty. End goal is a rifle no more than 7lbs with optic, a full magazine, and sling.

That Forbes rifle is NICE but the price is well beyond my budget. I'd say $1500ish is probably my max, but I'd be plenty happy spending less. A Tikka lite or superlite in a wildcat stock seems like my best/most affordable option currently...?

You would cry if I told you I paid less than that for it. :)

I had it painted, a couple of tweaks, and the barrel lobbed an inch and I’m just about at $1500. You are likely thinking NULA though.

So lighter than a bare Tikka. I should’ve bought one of those in 7o8 when they were available. The truly LW LH market is probably the most underserved niche.

LOL. You’re such a generous and helpful fellow.

I would buy another. Unfortunately nothing really comes close to it in the lefty market.

Yeah that's what comes up when I google Forbes rifles. I'm assuming that's the only source for them? How'd you get one so cheap?

Hard to beat a tikka in a wildcat stock for a budget left hand fly weight

Any idea what a T3x lite in a wildcat weighs? That seems like the best price for what I'm after.

Also does anyone know if the T3 lite or t3x lite are the same weight or if one is lighter?

A buddy of mine had RMR put a wildcat stock on a superlite 300 wsm, lopped the barrel at 22”. He added mountain tactical bottom metal and carbon fiber bolt handle. With a vx3 4.5-14 on it weighs 6.5lb. It’s a nice rifle. I think a wildcat installed is $900, superlite maybe $1400?

I have a left hand Savage 11 in 7-08. I'm not sure of the weight, but it seems light to me. If your taste leans toward higher end rifles, then it's out of the running. Otherwise, it may be a viable option.

Another option, as you've noted is Tikka. I have a LH Tikka T3 in 6.5 Swede that is extremely light to carry.

Ive been searching AU for a 2nd hand or NEW Savage LH rifle thats not too heavy!..... hard to find here!

Tikka is an option Also but i kind of wanted something different as il buy one LH rifle in my time for now an keep it for a good while..... savage seems to fit the bill

following thread with interest!

savage?

Savage doesn't make any lefty versions of their lightweight models. The model 11 is too heavy for my purposes at well over 6lbs. In fact, I'm pretty sure the axis is their lightest lefty option, and I'm specifically trying to replace an axis with something lighter.

interesting as i did research and come up with similiar conclusion that there rifle was a 7 pounder or more without the ol scope! so i take your word for it there!

I see your last line of Replacing the Axis with somethin light.............. hmmmm

im a bit spoiled with the kimber for anything that isnt much light..but id settle for something along the Patriots weight... does the 11 come in that sort or range? or more like ruger range :D ;)

seems like Tikka would be your option....an perhaps mine TBH

This is probably one of the easiest routes to a reliable, accurate LW LH rifle. While not ultralight, it’ll come in lighter than anything available off the shelf. And be far better than anything Salvage based.

Or, a guy should grab the Forbes in 280 listed on AO. Somebody needs to, before I have a weak moment. 😉
