LEGAL 10 round SKS with detachable mag...accomplished!..

i'm just saying if the gun was to be looked at would the police or cfo or even at the range would your gun be stripped out of your hands because you modified it to hold more than 5 rounds.

he did not modified his MAG he modified his gun and notting wrong with modifying his gun, this is all perfectly legal

Your digging your own hole. It is irrelevant what modifications you make to the rifle. It is the magazine that is regulated. You cannot modify a semiautomatic centerfire magazine to hold more than its legislated capacity, but there is no law saying that a pistol or manual action magazine cannot be inserted and legally used in a rifle. This is why 10 round magazines designed for the AIA enfield can legally be used in a Norinco M305/M14 without issue. Don't waste your time arguing this. You are wrong, and of story.

KND, i appreciate the enthusiasm. I'm working on them as fast as the circumstances allow. My mill is in my garage which is unheated currently so i cant stay in there for too long at a time. I've received the tooling i need to proceed further.

Everyone be patient...lol, there are great things coming one way or another. I promise i will have this thing ready come spring.

Alright, looking to hear good news from you soon but my girlfriend is going to hate this since more money on mag adapter and XCR-L pisto mag. Need to place order for that pistol mag too before you have full production, too many people have sks nowaday.

very interested in this !! pick up a cheap propane heater for the garage :p, once your ready to ship out west I want one, either complete rifle thats been modded or just parts, whichever way you choose to go!

manual. Only the first batch is being done "in house". There is no way in hell i can mass produce these suckers in any quantity without living in the garage, but then nobody would pay what it costs to make them in time and tooling.

CNC shops i've spoken to locally are ####ing insane with their prices. I'd have to charge 2x what an SKS costs JUST to break out even. BUT, like i said, there are options being looked at.

There used to be a saying back in my racing days. "Fast, Reliable, Cheap, pick two..." This is sort of the same situation. If you want them NOW and reliable, they wont be cheap. Cheap and reliable takes time to "line up" all the resources at best prices.

Red Liner 740
Is your mill manual or cnc?

i am stupid, and haven't read the whole thread, but can these be injection molded in plastic? could make thousands for cheap in china.
if there are some super critical dimensions, or very thin areas i guess it would be a no-go.

to me this would be a max $40 piece for a $200 gun that can be fed so quickly with stripper clips anyway.

awesome job though. crazy skills.
