Legendary Arms

Nice choice.... I drink beer when it's cold too..... But when I travel for work, or want something different, 40 creek is the choice....

Anyways, I digress...... I am a Ruger fanboy admittedly.......

Just curious, what is the driver to buy a legendary pro vs a Ruger ultralight vs a kimber Adirondack vs a Forbes?.......

Again, not questioning anyone's purchase and I have paid "stupid" uppers to lose weight or get clearer glass etc... But what is the draw here?.....

I was looking for a 257 Wby with a 26" bbl. specifically, so those choices you listed are out. There aren't many that fit what I wanted. Remington made a 700 CDL SF a while back and I had one with a McMillan EDGE stock, but it didn't "feel" right, for lack of a better word. I've had an Accumark, but it's a bit heavy (8.75 lbs bare).
I don't think these are aimed at the ultralight market like Kimber/Forbes, but rather in between them and something like Cooper. The action is a copy of an Ed Brown 704, which is a CRF, but without the long extractor of the Mauser. I'm not saying it's better or worse, just different.
At $2250 now and the way our dollar is tanking, I can see these going for close to $3k by the end of the year. At the current price, I'd have a hard time rebarreling and restocking an action on what I wanted that's comparable to this one. Plus there's the wait time and sourcing.
Bottom line I guess is that it's just something a bit different. All guns share similarities, there's only so many ways to skin a cat. I just like trying out new toys.

Bearklr..... I like your approach... You knew what you wanted and you went after it....

I can tell you that, if I had that approach from day one, I likely would have saved myself a lot of coin regardless of how expensive the actual purchase was ......

I wish it were like that. Trust me, I've gone through about every manufacturer there is many times over. There's always something "better" I need. I've even owned the exact same gun a few times, thinking I made a mistake selling the last one. case in point the Accumark in 257. I just sold the second one I've owned a few weeks ago.

In my case it was partly morbid curiosity... I wanted to try the 28 Nosler cartridge and having held the Nosler rifle, for me it didn't feel right.
And having had a few Bansner-stocked rifles that really were a good, comfortable fit I had to try the LAW.
Prior to purchase I read all the pros and cons on the 'Fire and other forums so I felt it was worth a try.
Also regarding the dealer level I knew from doing business many times with Prophet River that I would be well looked after if there were any issues, that's a good feeling when buyng anything..

My approach is not a means to an end..... Don't get me wrong .....

I still "need" several rifles.......

Just an example, I was lucky enough to get given a Wayne Gretzky rookie card back in the day...... When I sold it it was $750....... It had no value for me and I passed it on.... That $750 was then turned into a lowly 17hmr and and a decent scope.... I did, and still do, use that rifle as my "sit at the top of the gravel pit and pick off crows or varmints .... It is fun.....

I harvested two deer with my scout this year...... It is worth 3x what the 17 is worth..... But I can't say one gave me pleasure over the other......

I guess what I am saying is that life is short..... Choose your hobby..... Buy what you need and what you don't need (if you can afford it)..... And make your purchase count.....

read a few reviews about these rifle some bad, some more that are good, I ordered a professional in 28 nosler. Cant wait to get my mits on it.
