Lemishine for Wet Tumbling in Canada? Or a Substitute?

Yeah, I've had a pretty thorough look through everything there.. they actually have a kiosk at my store that will tell you the inventory level and the aisle number where something is *supposed* to be located. I noted the SKU number and went through all the shelves in the entire cleaning products section, looking at the labels, and couldn't even see where it was supposed to be.

I'm going back to pick up some other stuff tonight (who knew reloading was so much like baking, except with gunpowder?) and will ask them if they can just order some and call me when it arrives.
 
I just got a tumbling rig togather and used a big squirt of sunlight
and it worked perfect tumbling for 1 hour or so.
there was a bit of black foam but rinsed off quickly.
 
The typical advice is this:

1. Add 5 Lbs (2.27 kg) of SS media into the drum
2. Next fill with 1 gallon (3.78 Liters) of cold water. (One gallon)=8 Lbs/3.63 kg
3. Add your brass into the drum (2 Lbs/907g of brass)
4. Add dish soap. 1 -2 Tbs (15-30 mL) of either Dawn, Ivory, or Joy dish soap
(if there are no soap bubbles in the water after you tumble, you need more soap)
5. Add 1/4 Tsp. (1.25 mL) of Lemishine. This is the key to the shine. (Not too much)
6. Tumble 3-4 hours with the Model B High Speed Thumler’s Tumbler
7. Pour out as much water as you can without losing any brass or pins
(The more you rinse the brass and pins the better your results will be next time)
8. Fill drum with water, and separate brass by hand or use an STM Media Separator with water.
9. Rinse your brass off really good with some warm water. (Not getting a good rinse can leave water spots on the brass)
10. Dump brass onto a towel and let dry. If any pins get stuck in the neck of the brass throw those pins away
11. Store Stainless Steel Media either wet or dry in drum

Apparently you have really soft water, it's possible that you can get away without the Lemishine
 
That is a pricey little tumbler you have there. How manny case can you do with it at one time?

Just done 6000 9mm in about a hour. Cleaned and separated. Now in the oven for a few hours to dry.
If I new how to post pictures I would. But I dont. Will send them to some one to post if they will.

I's not as big as you think. It will only do a 5 gallon pail of brass. A guess in the size is 20"wide 24"long 28" high. Pours out into a 5 gallon pail. I would look good on your balcony.

Whe can I get one in Canada?
 
For that price. I don't think so. Never seen a cement mixer so small any ware else. For a larger one home depot or crappy tire.

I think I'm going to get into this SS wet tumbling. I don't shoot high volume so I'm thinking of picking up that dual 3lb drum tumbler from Harbor Freight for $50. Folks say each drum can handle approx 200x 9mm or 100x 223 cases.

I have one of the a harbor freight double tumbler to. They work good for small batches. I don't put that many into it, needs room to tumble. I use it for cleaning the lube off my swaged bullets before I seat them in the cases.
 
It would be interesting to see how those drums survive. Do they have internal baffles to help turn the media? How much noise do they make? Is the plastic gearing going to survive? And of course, you will need to buy stainless media.

The other option is the tried and true Thumbler's Tumbler, but they are more expensive, and have their own issues.

After doing a bit of research, there is some issues with these breaking drive belts, but it is mitigated by making sure it is aligned before first use and a little lube at key points. From my understanding they stand up fine and are quiet.
They are not new in tumbling brass.
