True, but the original thread was 'Three kinda old do it all calibers'. Letting your 'imagination go wild', whole new thread.;)
Thanks to the inspiration of JP I thought this would be a very fun post.
Again, pick 3 guns but you can choose ANYTHING.
If it's a custom please describe in detail.
And remember, there is no limit to dollars or legislation.
We're dreaming here so don't restrict yourself.
Now....fantisize away!;)

well, since this is the hunting forum:
Holland and Holland doubles: 1 470 Nitro Express SxS, 1 12 gauge SxS
Weatherby Mark V Deluxe, .300Wby or .340Wby

Y'know how I said price was no object?
My wife says when we go to restaurants I automatically pick the most expensive thing on the menu without looking at prices.
Get the picture?
So here goes......

  • Vierling quad barrel drilling in 12g/12g/7x65R/5.6x52R with barrel inserts for 375 H&H Flanged Nitro Express and Hensoldt 1.75-5x24 scope on swing-away mounts.
  • Switch bbl Martini Henry with barrels chambered to the following with sights as stated - 45/90 -express sights; 40/65 Win - ghost ring; 12g; 303 and 303/25 - both with Lynx 3-9x42 LER scopes.
  • Springfield Armory M21 Tactical

I think I will choose things I would actually use, to agument what I already have.
Husqvarna sporting rifle in 9.3 X62.
Beretta or Benelli 12 Ga.Semi-Auto Sporting Clays.
Semi-Auto HK or similar ACCURATE pistol in 10mm/40 S&W

And something I have always wanted, but have no real need for:
Winchester original or Browning Repro. Model 1895 in .405 Win. (because I read a Zane Grey book that talked about one when I was a kid.

Please PM me for my shipping address.
I still believe in Santa Claus.

Well if money is no object why not get rifles in the same caliber from Hagn?;)

My choices would be these.

Fabbri o/u 12 gauge, 32" barrels with Teague choke tubes.

Famars o/u 30" barrels, one set in 20 gauge, the other in 28 gauge, both with Teague chokes.

McKay Brown sxs, 12 gauge, with two barrels. A 28" set choked skeet and light modified, the other 30" choked improved cylinder and improved modified.

Wow, a lot of double fans out there! Me too.

1. H&H Double in 375 with the nicest wood possible, and the correct cast for a lefty.

2. Any real nice sidelock side by side, probably in 20 guage, not sure why. I do like the look of that Kimber Valier, nice case hardening, two triggers, good wood.....

3. If I had had the money years ago, I really wanted a Win70 custom shop; stainless with a full octagonal barrel, and really nice wood, of course in left hand as well, would likely chamber it in 270, or maybe 7x57.

I would have to go to Martini&Hagn's shop to get fit up for a 9,3x64, express sights, claw mounts. French gray floorplate, top notch wood, skeleton grip cap, M'bogo forend tip, barrel band sling swivel, rust blued. Much like the one on their website, but not colorcase hardened reciever. Topped with a Leupold VXIII. Trigger set for 2 1/2lbs. Classic Leather butt pad. Twin exposed cross bolts.

Then it's off to the Rigby plant to get fit for a 275 Rigby. This would be a nice slender little gem. Skeleton grip and butt plate. Quick detach square bridge reciever. Express sights again, one standing, two flip up. 24"pipe.

Perhaps a drive down the road would be prudent to either the Purdey or the Holland & Holland firms. This one is a toss up though. I am not sure if I'd get a 300H&H or an 8x68 Mauser. Most likely the 8x68 though. in a genuine magnum length Mauser action.
25" pipe and fancy walnut, classic turn of the century African safari expedition styling and true to the design for that period of rifle. Only exception is the double square bridge would hold another VXIII.

I think this should be possible once I find an extra $50K. Wonder how bad a beating I'd take from my wife for this one! :runaway:

Westley Richards Double in .476 Westley Richards.
Holland and Holland in 375 H&H flanged
Holland and Holland in 300 H&H magnum
The same for me, but instead of the double rifle in .476, I'd like to have a nice double rifle in .303 British.

Funny how you don't see any short mags on the list. :dancingbanana:
