Let's build a 1000yrd rifle, opinions and thoughts welcomed!!

What is your take on IOR and some of their most recent offerings?

Because they are rare as hen's teeth around here, I have only looked through 1 scope and this was years ago... Maybe over a decade. At that time, the glass was very good. The MP8 reticle was novel and to me, cutting edge (mildots were all the rage then). It was a heavy scope but likely a featherweight by todays standards. Seemed to work mechanically ok for the owner.

His concern, and mine was the lack on support in NA should a warranty be needed. And there were plenty of unhappy posts around that time so I never pursued the product further.

No idea where things stand today... so my thoughts may be vastly out of date.

The posts by Guntech and Shawn_338 show two somewhat different approaches toward the same goal. Both thoroughly modern but slightly divergent in appearance and function. I think it is safe to say that either one would have the potential to be in the winner's circle at an "F" class match. This is the thing; there are basic requirements for an accurate long-range rifle. Once these are met, the rest becomes, after a fashion, artistic expression.

What sort of barrel did you use on the RPR? Did you have to make any sort of other mods to the rifle other than a new barrel?

I used a Med Palma and turned the shank down to then cut the treads and head spaced just like any other pre fit, really the hardest part of this thing was getting it apart lol oh and I got rid of the plastic bolt knob and shroud, put a titanium one on it.
