Your friend should remove the spacer from the Aimpoint M4 to get a better cheekweld. That's what I did for mine on my Carbine with aftermarket rail.

The spacer was on for a reason. He used the eotech magnifier for most of the day.

Normally the gear is used on an AR15. The 551 he borrowed from another friend for the day because he didn't want to bring his rifle since he live's in Germany and bringing guns over the border always means unnecessary paperwork.
