Let's see some pics of your Pimped out Troy PAR

I think it defeats the purpose to turn this back into semi-auto like AR. Not saying it is absolutely cannot be done technically but why not just get an AR then since giving this semi-auto will likely throw this back into restricted anyway (plus CA and NY will likely not allow it anymore). Have that said.. what do you guys think if they would add forward assist in future generations? Will it help or will it cause more issues?

Btw, I finally ordered a .223 version today (screw waiting after filing tax....) ;) Not sure how long it will take to arrive but can't wait to try it out asap. Now I need to go buy more mag and ammo. Is there any mag (LAR-15 or std 5 rds stuff) that runs good with this or everything is good? Also any particular .223 ammo that it likes or dislike?

If the lower was an AR... it would already be restricted as a variant.

Modifying the upper to use recoil spring's wouldn't be changing the regulated part in any way. The lower would still not be an AR15 variant and with a 18.5 barrel the gun would still be non restricted.

Sorry, didn't mean to hijack this thread originally for posting pictures but since this is the thread that has most knowledgeable people in the Troy PAR I might give it this a try. Will this item: https://www.reliablegun.com/en/magpul-accessories-xtm-hand-stop-kit-black be able to replace the bottom pump charge panel? I see some vid and pic use the Magpul AFG2 Angled Forend Grip so I know the AFG2 works. However this Xtm hand stop? It looks slimmer and appears to fit more in the hand with the stopper holding on to the hand when pulling back.

I have the par in 223 and it will not fit as pictured. The rail on the bottom is not the full length (there are breaks in the rail for Allen screws). If you pm me you email I can send you a pic of what it looks like on mine, I only was able to use part of the handstop kit.

Yay my Optics Ready finally arrived today!!! Thanks for the fast shipping Rampart International. I borrowed the xtm grip stock kit from my JRC and tried it on (You will notice the VERY stand out FDE color)... just like airbatic said it doesn't really fit as the picture. Gave it a try with the 2 gaps and did a few pump action with snapcaps... feels and runs just fine so I might get the black one now.

Just out of the box..

Got some parts (from other guns) added for a try.

Can't wait to test it out this weekend.

Anybody know the buffer tube specs on the .308 version? I want to put a folding stock adapter on mine when I get it if possible.

Should be a standard Mil-Spec AR15 buffer tube.

I considered going with this from Wolverine: https://www.wolverinesupplies.com/ProductDetail/HRAHERA0503_Hera-Arms-Side-Folding-Unit--AR-Style?sortValue=0 but ultimately decided against it since I like the Magpul STR stock on mine and it is a little fat for a folder, and the PAR is pretty short to begin with.

A bit late to the party but here's mine:

Still needs a real trigger when someone figures out one that works. I'm also going to add a short throw safety at some point.

If yours is 223 version the TriggerTech AR15 trigger works like a charm on mine. My trigger is the adjustable pull version. Tested on Remington UMC, Eagle black/whitebox version, Eagle Tactical ammo (blue box) and PMC (Korean). All of these are 55gr Not a single issue so far using factory mag.

Interesting. This thread seems to say otherwise. https://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php/1485461-Troy-PAR-Geissele-SSA-E-bolt-catch-problem I have the TT-15 trigger in my AR. I guess I'll have to throw it in the PAR and head to the range for some testing. n

Anyone work up any loads with the .308 version?

Here is mine as it sits now... Before you make fun of my AR-332, I have shot sub-moa groups in the past with it believe it or not. I will be switching to a 1-4 power though, as last year the deer I shot was at about 10 yards and I had a lot of trouble getting my sights on target in time.

I've had some issues with American Eagle black box .223 with failure to fire. It was almost like a light primer strike. I ran the rounds through the gun again but they didn't ignite. Anyone else have the same issues with these rounds? Maybe about 3 rounds out of 50

Having shot that particular rifle myself... I fully believe you.

Turns out the MH is shooting 1/2" to 3/4" pretty reliably too.
