Let's see some pic's of your SxS's & O/U's

Alright I'll start with a few of my Laurona and later take a few of the Franchi.

I like the wood!

I'd like to know where you are guys are finding these firearms. Browsing through estate auctions?

I have bought from the US, Canadian retailers, privately, on the exchange here and estate sales. I try to cast as wide a net as possible and look at as many as I can. But I also have a pretty clear idea of what I'm looking for. I think I learn something from each gun I have bought that improves my next purchase.

But I like them all! :D

short o/u and short sxs

short o/u and short sxs.

i had to take pictures as they will both be posted
in the EE ( as well as several other guns ) this weekend.

First woodcock

This is the first woodcock taken by my Chapuis 28 ga using Oban to point and hold and Wincheter AA 8.5 to knock it down after it flushed as I advanced.

BTW: this is Oban last Sunday:

Have a great weekend,
Henry;)

The before pic's are on page 22 & 23 of this thread. Clabrough & Brothers Side lock ejector Nitro proofed for 2 3/4, 1 1/4 oz shells. Had it tightened up by a very competent Gunsmith and checked over to make sure it was safe for modern shells. It is. Took it all down and and cleaned everything. Except the butt pad it would not come off. Apparently it is made of bone along with an insert in the forend. I refinished the stock and got most of the dents and dings out. I would have rather taken the "after" pic's outside but the weather sucks. These pic's do not do it justice but here they are anyway.

Great job on that stock, looks nice! Moreover, the best part is that the sxs is nitro "oomphed" (if that is even a word :)) enough to fulfill all kinda upland needs.

Now that is a neat image!

Frankly, Henry, I was starting to wonder how long were you gonna keep on rotating that previous image of the 28ga/Pheasant......just pulling your leg :D:D -I know that you do shoot a lot of those birds.

I'll be pissy and agree the photos suck because now I'm really annoyed I was slow and didn't get that one. LOL

Seriously, that gun is just getting better and better. I love the nitro proofed Damascus and that the whole thing checked out well with your smith. Love the way the stock came out although I keep getting a bit dizzy every time I see the stock on the Chapuis 28 gauge.

I sure hope on a better day you're going to take some shots that really show it off.

Yes that Chapuis is nice (to bad it's a 28ga :)) But I have under $1000 into the Claybrough. What is a Chapuis worth?
