Prophet River carries 2 1/2" RST shells. Kent offers Gamebore from England in 2 1/2" and most interestingly, and I have it from a very good source, Kent will start loading their own Kent Elite 2 1/2" shells here in Canada later on this spring or early summer.

I have both RST and Gamebore but for reasons that can't be helped, there is a lot of shipping costs involed with those products if you live in central or eastern Canada. Gamebore come from England, RST are loaded in PA but they have to first get to Prophet River in AB before they get shipped back this way. The new Kent Elites will be loaded in Ontario so I am hopeful they will be a nice load plus a little more cost effective.

BTW, the Gamebore have a fair degree of "punch" to them in comparison to the RST. Gamebore 2 1/2" pressure maxes out around 7500 psi in the 12 gauge and 8200 psi in the 16 gauge while the RST are down in the 5500 to 7000 psi range depending on the specific load.

Kent elites in 2 3/4" 1oz are absolute junk. The rims swell so bad my ithaca pumps and my buddies browning bps cant eject them. They wont cycle my auto 5 or my 1100. My turkish semi fires them well. There are definitly some with more and some with less powder as some have a crack to them and recoil like a magnum load while others sound so weak i couldnt shoot a pair for fear the wad was still in the barrel
Unusal for kent. I use their bismuth in my doubles

Hopefully their 2.5" line improves

I've had some brief discussions with senior people at Kent Canada. Release of the 2 1/2" Elites is taking longer than originally hoped for due to production line "teething". I haven't shot the 2 3/4" so I can't comment on that. But I will be shooting the 2 1/2" shells just as soon as I can.

They cycle fine through a Beretta 390.

I guess its time I personally join in ...here's a little custom I built - with the help of my Quebecois friends, for my 13 year old son last year ,based on a LC.Smith featherweight ejector 20 gauge ...my son thinks the double triggers are the coolest thing !

A beautiful gun. Im sure your son will cherish it.

Quick question though...why is it that when I click your photo links I get a small photo of your beautiful work and then a whole bunch of ads for beautiful asian prostitutes? Are the two related in any way? :)

Really nice Smith, Chris. So much for the expression that the cobbler's children have no shoes! What an awesome dad. A ruffed grouse on one side and a spruce on the other?
