A case in point is John Browning's excellent design, the Superposed. This particular field-grade example was built by the Fabrique Nationale d'Armes de Guerre in Herstal, Belgium, in 1930. With a serial number less than 500, it was likely made in the second week of production.

I have a friend who has an early Super with double triggers, his father purchased the gun new. I can't think of less than half a dozen others that I've seen with double triggers outside of your picture and his.
 
Well, time for another installment I guess, must keep the ball rolling. This next one was on my bucket list for quite a long time and sorry, it only has one barrel. It is a Westley Richards Single Barrelled Trap Gun, built for and shipped in 1914 to J.A. Flett, Vancouver Canada according to Westley Richards records. Trap singles was normally only shot in USA, Canada and Australia so these were made for those markets and are virtually unknown in GB. When I did my search inquiry of Westley Richards on this gun I included some photos and they were delighted and fascinated, they have never had one in their shop that anyone can remember. It has a 32" barrel ( .032" choke) and was factory equipped with the optional ejector and ventilated rib. Apparently reconditioned to new about 15 years ago by Nick Mackinson, it was in nearly unused condition when I acquired it but it gets exercised frequntly now. The choke is conical in profile with no parallel section like most are and it throws beautiful patterns, just like Perazzis who also use the same profile. The ejector is very stout and it cocks by the extractor being forced to compress the v spring when pressing against the standing breech as the gun is being closed, this makes closing the gun stiff. I removed this spring ( still have it of course) and now it's an easy open/ easy close extractor gun, much nicer to use. I had occasionally seen one of these on auction sites in the US $$$$ but the only one I had my hands on in Canada was heavily worn and grossly overpriced so I waited for years and eventually brought this one home. Sorry Londonshooter, no hammers!
 
Remaining pictures of the Westley Richards Trap Gun. Note the massive breech walls, it's built like a tank! Weight is 7 lb 9 1/2 oz and it can hold it's own against modern trap singles. Not seen, the trigger face is actually checkered (by hand of course). At this point in my life I don't shoot registered trap any more and this gun suits my trapshooting style perfectly.

Agreed, the gun must have been basically sound beforehand. The bore has been lapped and polished, it looks like chrome. No sign of rejointing, so either not required or done by the most modern methods. The wood was refinished and checkering recut, blacking ( blueing) renewed and case colours renewed, probably by Turnbull in the US or possibly done in England. The engraving on the action, barrel and trigger guard is full depth and sharp so it hadn't been rusted and then over polished. The Pachmayr pad is not original of course. I imagine this work didn't come cheap, but it is to the original quality of this fine gun and money well spent in my opinion. Ready for another 100 years on the line. Everybody at my club loves to shoot this gun, it has THAT feel.

Gotta luv those Silver Pigeon V 28's, they all have nice wood but there is only one that looks like that one........spectacular. Cherish that gun, you will never see another of these with wood like that.
 
JP Sauer drilling

Hopefully drillings are ok here. It has sxs barrels!! Anyway Its from 1883 - 1884. Made by JP Sauer. Imported by Manhattan Arms co 12 ga sxs Damascus barrels with 2 1/2 chambers. A 38-55 barrel under. Someone added a star to the butt.

This is going to be pic heavy,and you would think that I would be better at this posting thing so bear with me .

this gun started life as a 32 inch bbl 16 gauge Parker VH , a nice one to find - but it was beat to #### the owner asked if I would be interested in a AAH upgrade ...5 years later here we are ,and the customer is elated and I personally witnessed he shoots it like a sum#####!

this was a collaborative effort as always by myself ,Lemieux and Mr.Kob,it also gives some idea of what we can do here in Canada

Yeah,im not working today ...smothering with a cold and recovering from a Newfoundland Christmas .
here's a couple more of a Remington DEO grade 1894 I restocked and restored for a friend in Arizona,he shot his first and only Ptarmigan with it when he came to pick it up

So this was another long term project ,a gift for my sons on his 14th christmas a couple years ago ,it started life as a beat LC Smith ,feather weight ejector 20 gauge - a gift from a friend ,I did the metal sculpting on this one to mimic high grade smiths ,master engraver Dubois went above and beyond what I asked for ,,mr .Kob did the CCH to the usual high standard ,the blank was grown here in Canada ...im proud to say ,my son shoots it well and loves to hunt grouse with it and the setters ....Hes twice as big now as when the photo was taken ,but I compensated for it when I made the stock
