Let's see some pic's of your SxS's & O/U's

My 1963 Superposed Lightning Trap
Completely rebuilt by Mike Hunter Meaford ON.
I had the receiver jeweled, rib re-soldered, everything re-blued using Mike's 14 day process of re bluing, stock finished and checkered, lock work tightened, and some internal parts replaced.

A lot of what people are posting are really amazing pieces.

This is my cheap Stoeger/IGA 20 ga which is my first shotgun and I'm really, really enjoying. Doesn't hold a candle to what a lot of what you guys have but I love the thing.

browninggold - that 16ga Citori is beautiful....surprisingly (for me), the grain on that stock could almost be a twin to an old Beretta SxS that I have..... I shall post an image when I have a moment.

As long as you are able to get out in the field with your firearm and enjoy that is what really matters. A very nice safe queen holds no value other than the monetary component attached to the firearm.

I couldn't get the images to show up properly. Anyway, here is mine.....the shotgun is a 626 Onyx in 12ga with 2 3/4in chambers, mobile chokes made somewhere during the mid 80s. A very nice bird gun, the only thing I do not like about that is the semi-beavertail fore end. :)

I bought a white lightning 16 gauge about six years ago. Love the gun. Your wood is better. I'm jealous!! LOL Enjoy the gun.

Greener

I have had this one for a while

The gun is a Greener Model 3 which means it cost 30 guineas in 1882, it was sold by W Rawbone in Capetown Africa
Barrels were 36 inches long but are now 32 1/2 inches
The bottom of the barrels are marked for 4 bore brass cases and the bores are .990. It is felt the gun was sent to W Rawbone and the barrels were shorten to remove the chokes so it could fire balls for dangerous game
It weighs 17 1/2 pounds Should be fun to shot sometime

I'm really going to need some info from ya on this if you don't mind.
Phone # of the gentleman whom did the fine resto, does he have a website?
My favorite '59 Super is needing a rib relay at very least and a full on resto such as you have had done if feasible.

I'd appreciate you pm me as to cost of the work if you do not want to post it.

Thanx
Tim.

This thread really should be put up as a stickie. Would really like to see it continue and I would like to see some more older and higher end European doubles, aside from Merkels. And a few more Darne's would be nice.

As for the Savage 311 comments. That was my first double when I was 17 and I still have it. Absolutely no mechanical problems but have replaced splintered stocks twice. It is brutally unbalanced but I suppose after 37 years shooting it my form is likely as unbalanced!

Hello Gentlemen,

Just acquired this sweet little Bland 20ga SLNE with 30" damascus barrels, 5lb 4oz.

- Any insight on enameled crest on compartment handle?

Thanks

Mark

Lovely little Bland, Mark. 30" barrels and only 5 lb 4 oz. Do you have any close up photos of the action? That would be a sweet little bird gun.
WR1894, that is one cool 4 bore. What a blast that one would be. Let us know how she shoots after you take her out.
