For you and Straightshooter.....Yes the Wood on the L.C Smith is the original stock, however the only thing thats not factory is the grip cap and the new recoil pad.
My father actually found the Shotgun and it was "Klunk".if I remember right ,it would'nt even fire,so he got it cheap. The shotgun was then Restored by a couple of the best....Ralph martini,Restored the stock and got the gun shooting again, aswell he added the Ebony wood grip cap and the Genuine Leather silver's pad...and the case coloring on the reciever was done by Doug Turnbull
I Came across a picture of my Cheapo ,Spanish SXS 20 Gauge so I figured that I have to Bump the Thread and get some of your guys Hearts pumping for the fall. This shotgun has been my Work horse in the field for many years, and finally I just retired her this summer.....Going to cheat this fall and use the Semi-auto 12 Gauge fabarm for ducks\upland game.
My two CZ Partridges, in 12 and 20. Pics were taken after I refinished the 12; it had niceish wood, but the factory finish for some reason was much more opaque than the 20's was. I stripped the furniture and put 15 coats of Tru-Oil on it. In retrospect, maybe I should have stained it, but the wood is darkening slowly. I am of course calling it "Blondie" now.
Mr. Postman showed up with this today. 20ga DHE, 26" IC/M and the right number of triggers. Wanted a used one for a while, but most are NIB. This one has seen some use and will see more. Grouse season opens here on Saturday.
Also, a BIG thank-you to Clay at Prophet River Firearms for importing this from the States for me.
Nathan, not only it that a lovely Lefever but it's a 16!! My favorite. Best of all it's in close proximity to a dead turkey. While only knowing the barest of details, I love that story!
