How much of the fore end did you have to clean up to fit the magwell?

I cut the Knoxx fore end all the way to where the fore end becomes flat. I cut out the grooved part which is designed for the 870 tube fed shotguns, because it gets caught on the box mag. It's about 2" or so and you have to smooth it out after. I'll post a picture when I get a chance.

The shot should still be in the Cup at that point I am thinking, the porting would probably slow the cup down in relation to the shot, but I doubt the pellets would even touch the choke itself!

Kind of like this:

To show how far shot stays in the wad here are a couple of shots of my Dlask Comp on my 11-87. The screw in chokes are in the muzzle end of the comp so the shot and wad travel through the expansion chamber about 2" and then get compressed by the choke. Works great BTW.

i was thinking buck. some do not have a cup, but rather just a buffer behind the shot.
the Federal 15 pellet 00 buck i have i can clearly see the spiral stacked shot with no cup. i could be wrong though, havent cut any of them apart :D

Damn.....you are right! I never even though about Buck! I have reloaded for shot quite a bit, and all of that has entailed a shot cup of some form or another.

Here is my "Learned Something New Everyday Moment":D

I'll have to rip apart some Buck Shot loads in the name of Edumacation......I have some Federal Flight Control Buck, I think we can assume it has a shot cup, LOL!

Geez, I never thought of that. I have shot lots of 4 buck through the 11-87 but they were my own reloads and had wads with shot cups in them. I wonder what a wad only load would be like through there:eek:
