Lets see some pics of your Tacticool VZ 58/858s

Did you buy that upper handguard separately, or did you have to buy the set? I want to buy the upper guard but I want to keep my current lower handguard (and not have to pay for the NEA one!)

A few more pics. super compact with 10rnders.

I really like the finish on that! :) What is the brand of hand guard and rail? I really like that.

Nice set up man....
Isnt a scope too far back...? how much for a handguard assembley, and is it polymer or metal..?

reminds me of my old set up.. :)

NA Sniper: you need to move your barrel clamp forward. Your rifle has one of the taller gas blocks and I'm sure you can see that it's bending the clamp when tightened down.

I was playing around with my barrel clamp tonight and found that it will make an excellent flashlight mount. All I need is a low Weaver ring and it's GTG. The 10 o'clock position puts the button of the flashlight right near my left thumb when I grip forward on the handguard.

Ya Arma-coat is great, love the stuff.

Hand Guard is from Gun Expert, it is all metal, fit and finish is very nice, very secure a easy to remove for cleaning. Will try out with a fast fire to see how the return to zero is...

It was not cheap, over five for it shipped.

But I really like the look compared to the other options available.

Ya scope is new and not zero'd yet, might have to get a shell deflector???

Is there a fix to this? or is there different versions of the barrel clamp?

I was going try and bend it back then have it milled out...

I can think of a couple but they both involve a Dremel, an angle grinder, or both.:)

But seriously, many of these rifle have different dimensions on external surfaces of parts like the gas block or rear sight base. I had to grind down the rear top of my gas block tonight in order to fit a NEA upper rail. It had a "kick up" at the back and it acted like a fulcrum to keep the rail from seating down far enough at the rear. I've seen a couple like that in the dozen VZ's I've handled.

NEA only makes the one version of the barrel clamp, AFAIK. IMO, you've got 4 options:
1) Move the clamp forward. It doesn't look as good there, though.
2) Cut the rear segment of the clamp off and slide it rearward, snug to the gas block. This option depends on if that leaves you enough rail to mount whatever you want to on it.
3) Relieve the underside of the clamp.
4) Remove material from the top of the gas block.

My choice would be option 2, YMMV.

Here's mine:

- un-restrict. CZ858 (19" barrel) from Canada Ammo
- Nitro-carbon dioxide coating from Rauch Tactical
- Fake suppressor, dual-threaded model, from 007airsoft.com, held by a CNCwarrrior jam nut and some epoxy glue (loctite was not strong enough)
- NEA handguard set, gen.2
- Magpul AFG angled foregrip
- Rauch Tact. rear peep sight
- Neit Arms bolt release, gen.2
- Fab Defense grip
- NEA AR stock railed adapter
- NEA cantilever mount
- Bushnell TRS-25 red-dot
- Magpul CTR stock with cheek riser
- Condor single point sling (SB2)

BTW, i also have the NEA barrel clamp, but it was serving no purpose with the red-dot on the cantilever mount. Plus I think it looks better without. However, i really like Stevo's idea of putting the clamp sideways, to act as a flashlight mount. Will have to try that.
