I also have AFG 1, which is why I now have an AFG 2
Stevo is right just hit it with a dremel, there is not that much of a difference between the two. The only reason I got a V2 is I was at Blaxsun's house and I was blinded by all the magpul goodness, also it was shinny.
The biggest difference is that the V2 does not have the "wings" at the front so it will clear more stuff on the sides. And it is slightly shorter overall. I needed the side clearance for my ghetto side rail.

I'm debating adding a side rail myself. That or going the route Stevo did with the barrel clamp. Magpul is major crack though, once you try it.... it's over. LOL

BTW, Shawn, that pattern looks like a poor man's A-TACS camo.
For a light?
The clamp would be easier but a rail segment, even a plastic one, bolted to the handguard would be cleaner.

Godamnit I can't believe the compacts didn't come in.
You know those are going to be horrible to shoot, right? Abusively loud, violently operating, flame throwing, miserable little guns.
That won't keep me from buying one, but I'd wager it doesn't get shot a 1/4 as much as my carbine.
Sigh all the reasons I wanted one sooooooooo bad...
I still will get a carbine once I have money to spend on one though.
