I'm not sure how to get the plate off these ones. There is a rivet through the bottom hole and the floor plates don't appear to slide over anything.

It is the factory paint. It's just the lighting (phone camera + overcast)
 
Just built this hand grip. Will try and build a bit longer stock as well some day. Always thought the 858 was too small overall

I always thought that the cadex hand stop was to keep your hand from sliding of the front of the foregrip of a short barrelled shotgun.

Are you using it as a vfg or to stop your hand from sliding backwards?

I'm using it as an index to keep my hand in the same position every time. It also allows me to apply some pressure which helps me keep the muzzle under more control. I wish the hand guard was longer, as I would place my hand even farther out if I could. I'm not worried about my hand slipping over the muzzle.

Thanks, it's almost done. I just put in the ambi bolt carrier (a must in my opinion after playing with it) and am waiting for the ambi mag release. I may switch out the stock adapter, depending on how it performs, I have to remove the sharp edges on it too. I am still trying to figure out what to do about a light. I may have to get a new lower hand guard. I wish I could buy just an Infratek lower.
 
I picked the grip up as a souvenir from the Scottsdale gun club. Something to remember my brief love affair with a FA Ar-15. It took a bit of modifying to get it to fit, but well worth it.

Would make a AR15 pistol grip adaptor for the 858 platform. Hopefully some time after shot show they can start looking into it.

From what I have read people who use the ar adapters for the AK don't like the angle that the grip is at and the position that the grip is put in. It moves the grip back away from the trigger guard. The best bet is just to find a grip you like and mod it to fit.

Already done.. Have a few in the shop. Just haven`t been in a rush putting them into full production. It`s a low priority. I`ll post a pic later.
