Looks fantastic. How did you get the bottom handguard to stay in place??
How are ya gonna keep the top one in place?????
Thanks

Right now its still about 90% but for now the bottom just had to be trimmed to fit under the front ring and then the original was trimmed to fit in conjunction with a cut down filler piece from the original hardware. I could have fabbed a lower to fit but I wanted the look of the original Red shellac that I haven't had much luck in replicating

Once the bottom was in the top just took some light sanding to make it work. Right now its taped in but I'll finish it with some epoxy filler down the road.
Which muzzle device is that?? Dlask??
Originally the idea was to go with Krinkov features, but then the super shorties never came in and seeing as I already had sourced most of the parts I went this direction. Now seeing the shorties availible it'd be difficult to make it work anyway so I guess it all happens for a reason

.
There was a few other questions from pm's... the flash hider was from a company called GRG Manufacturing and is a 4 piece replica of the Bulgarian 'Krinkov' model ( that works very well). It's a 3 part flash hider plus an adapter up to 24mm. I had to retap mine as at the time they didn't make an adapter for 14mmx1R but it came together nicely. I have the original cone flash hider as well, but this one works much better, albiet it is a bit heavier.
The mag is a mod of an original Tula bakelight mag with an adapter from a sacrificial CZ mag. A PITA to make, but it works well.
An old AK dust cover has been fitted to act as a spent casing deflector. Based on how its kicking them out I'll probably have to open up the top a bit more but it works well too.
The AK Plum Bakelite grip needed a longer screw and some modding to make it work. The biggest pain was the folding Krinkov rear stock/trunnion mod but it works well now so I'm happy. I probably wouldn't go that direction again as when folded it interferes with the trigger for righties like me but what's done is done. Maybe figuring out a left folder would have helped? It'd be interesting to get an under-folder to work somehow though...
