Lets see your 338-06!!

I have a Ruger No1 chambered for the 338-06. It has a 25in bbl, with a muzzle brake.

I use 63 grains of H414 under a flat base 225 grain Hornady spire point, over CCI250 mag primers for 2700+ fps.

30-06 will easily shoot 180 s at over 2900 fps with the RIGHT load and Flatter with a better BC and Penetrate Better with a higher SD !

I run 62gr. of H4350 under 225gr. partitions for 2750 fps. Probably my fussyest rifle about jump to lands. Anything over .050" and the groups open up quickly. Certainly limits bullet selection that will fit the magazine, and still group decently.
