some nice deer in there.
good to see the little ones too, its good to show all the deer I rekon, not just the big ones, some people get caught up with the size of antler outweighing the fun had in the hunt...

Took a doe on Friday.... no trophy but made the mistake of passing up a bunch last year and ended up empty handed. Wasn't doing that again!

Went out with the intention of taking a small buck (we already have an 8pt in the freezer this year) but couldn't pass up on this guy.
270 yards, .308 Rem Core Lock 150gr - Remington 700 SPS, by far my longest shot to date. I was at the range not 4 hours before going out, so confidence was high with my hold over.
I've found the Vortex Viper HS 2.5-10x44 has an excellent retical for .308 holdovers.
He ran about 150m on a double lung shot, across a field, down a steep bank and somehow made it across the creek only to either get hung up on that tree, or came tumbling back down the bank when he finally ran out of air.
The only thing more satisfying than making the shot, was finding him in the dark without much effort. I was prepared for a long night searching.

Got this guy yesterday. I was hoping to get a little better but with a 4 day old baby girl at home i don't have much time for anything, let alone hunting. First blood with my 257 Weatherby. Ranged him at 350 yards but he was moving away from me when i shot so not exactly sure of the distance.
